Hard to put down
Since his childhood, forensic artist David Weiss has been obsessed with a society double-murder that implicated his father and drove the man to suicide. Now, Weiss is back in his childhood home of Calista (a mythical midwestern town) and intends to use his time to discover the truth. The murder may be decades old but Weiss is certain that the easy explanations are wrong--that something more ...

William Bayer - What a "Switch".
This murder mystery does more than track a killer; instead it leads the reader through the personal growth of a police dective as he explores the mind of the killer. The plot twists are highly developed and expressive. This is one that I could not put down.

Welcome to the NYPD as it should be.
It is too bad the Janek novels are hard to find these days. In spite of their falts they are excellent reads. Janek is a pragmatice cop who doesn't loose sight of his humanity. He represents a lot of what todays cop should be like. You will enjoy this novel in spite of its rather somber seting.

Neuvo Noir What/Who Do You Really Know?

He begins the first person narrative lost in his art, an emotionally damaged man that can only ...

Pocket, 1981

An undiscoverd classic of trash fiction
Oh yes, this book is trash. It's vile, and at times silly. But if you like this kind of thing, it's pure gold. With an insightful screenwriter and director, it could be a great movie. However, it's more likely to go straight to video if it would ever be made at all. But the book... well, if trash is your guilty pleasure then you have hit the jackpot.
