Death Row18 reviews
William Bernhardt

Ballantine Books, 2003

Highy recommended!
This is the first William Bernhardt novel that I've read. It was a gift from a friend, and admittedly, not the type of novel I normally enjoy. What a nice surprise this book was! It had suspense, action and mystery but most importantly, kept me guessing. It's a fast read, so get the book on some quiet weekend and have a good time.

A new one found
I enjoy finding what I call a new Author. Finishing this book I knew I had a new one. I will go back now and read all in the series. His plotting is great and he actually follows a story line that you can follow. The "coma paragraphs" are really great. I highly recommend this book.

Murder One36 reviews
William Bernhardt

Fawcett, 2001

You'll Never Figure Out Whodunit, or Why
A lot of writers who have reoccurring characters assume their readers have read the previous books in the series. Not so with William Bernhardt. Readers who have come to know and love Ben Kincaid will devour MURDER ONE with delight, however a reader new to Bernhardt will have no trouble picking up the book and diving right in. There is not an ounce of assumption here. It's as if MURDER ONE was ...

A GREAT EASY READ!!!!!
What a great book. No, it is not scary, no it does not use a lot of ugly, ugly words, no it will not keep you up at night from being scared. It is a really good mystery that will hold your attention and make you want to skip pages to find out how it will end. Ben is a good attorney that has people on his mind and not money. Christina is a good character. I liked her and Jones and Loving. I really ...

Late 70s/early 80s OU student? Read this book!
Wish they'd put this book back into print--want to send it to a couple more fellow Sooners.

Cruel Justice12 reviews
William Bernhardt

Ballantine Books, 1996

JUSTICE FOR ALL!
William Bernhardt has written another good book. I really wish the world had a lot of Ben Kincaids in it, but I doubt it does. Ben is defending an retarted man who is accused of killing a woman ten years ago. The story also includes another man who is taking young boys and making them do sexual things before he kills them. How do these two things connect?? Have to read to find out but you will. ...

The Midnight Before Christmas12 reviews
William Bernhardt

Ballantine Books, 1998

Fast & Full of Suspense
This is a short book that only takes a couple of hours to read, because you just want to keep reading it. It is full of suspense and also a little tear may come at the ending. It is centered around Christmas Eve and the happenings of an Attorney, Mom, Son & Ex Husband. The outside says Holiday Thriller and I would have to agree with this description. This was published in 1998 so should be easy ...

Perfect Justice6 reviews
William Bernhardt

Ballantine Books, 1997

PERFECT JUSTICE IS JUST ABOUT PERFECT
This is the fourth book in this series and the fourth one I have read. They all have been good and each one I read I think is better than the last one. Ben has agreed to defend a member of a white supremacy group for the murder of a Vietnamese young man. Did the man commit the crime?? He won't say he did or he didn't. Ben uses all his knowledge and people to try to prove him innocent. The whole ...

Double Jeopardy10 reviews
William Bernhardt

Ulverscroft Large Print, 1996

I NEVER KNEW 'WHO DONE IT' - TILL THE VERY END!
I love GOOD mysteries - especially those involving court cases; cops and lawyers and Bernardt certainly gives me all that in his books. He also respects his characters - and I love the fact that, be it Travis Byrne or Bern Kincaid (his main lawyering men), uphold the law and fight for the rights of the defendant no matter how much we hate the crime. The law is the law! I totally appreciate ...

Great Historical Shakespeare Recordings (Audiofy Digital Audiobook Chips)1 review
William Shakespeare

Audiofy/Naxos, 2004

Good recording, but...
This is fairly heady stuff...here are actual recordings of some of the most famous, influential stage actors from the 19th and 20th centuries taking another bow. The only disappointment is that although the disc comes with a table of contents, it does not state which actor is reading any particular passage. So unless you are old enough to have actually heard Edwin Booth in person, you will have ...

DARK EYE
This book is awesome as are the dozen or so books I've read written by William Bernhardt. Mr. Bernhardt is a very intelligent, humorous, and clever writer. I highly recommend reading everything he's written. He's now tied with Jeffrey Deaver as my very favorite author - and that says a lot!!!

Natural Suspect8 reviews
William Bernhardt

Ballantine Books, 2001

A legal thriller with a twist
William Bernhardt's Natural Suspect is a legal thriller with a twist: Bernhardt starts the event with a chapter setting the plot; then writers from Phillip Margolin and Brad Meltzer to Leslie Glass and Lisa Scottoline add their own twists to the tale. The result: a remarkably smooth yet unpredictable story which fans of crime and suspense will appreciate.

Capitol Conspiracy: A Novel14 reviews
William Bernhardt

Ballantine Books, 2008

Does Freedom Hurt America In Its Time Of Need?
With all that is happening in the world around us, the plot of this book is not too far-fetched. It is easily believable that the President and others in political office could be attacked for the stances they have taken. Bernhardt invites the reader to ask themselves how far we should all go in order to protect our freedoms. Is it worth giving them up to speed the process of prosecution or ...

Ben Kincaid & Friends Just Keep Getting Better
First, and most important, this is a cracking good story, with surprises right up to the end. Even if you have never read anything about Ben Kincaid before, you can start with this one and enjoy it tremendously, but it is all the more fun if Ben, Christina, Jones, Loving, and the others are old friends. William Bernhardt created several likable and interesting series characters in addition ...

Capitol Murder16 reviews

Rollicking Ride of Suspense and Intrigue
Until reading this book, I was unfamiliar with Mr. Bernhardt's character, Ben Kincaid. Now that I've been converted into an ardent fan, I intend to get to know this Ben fellow better. Capitol Murder is a fast-paced fascinating exploration of the mechanisms of national power alongside the subculture of vampire wannabes, all couched in a murder mystery. Mr. Bernhardt's development of standout ...

Hate Crime16 reviews

Ballantine Books, 2004

Loved It!
Mr Bernhardt writes legal thrillers like no other. When it comes to Ben, Christina, Jones and Loving, he doesn't disappoint. This was a well written story, that really disturbed me when it came to the details of the beating. Too sad to even imagine. The court room theatrics are the best and the twist and turns were very surprising. An excellent, fast paced read. Very entertaining. As ...
