If I know my Spocks...
Arguably the best of the 6 ST books. Taken from the original Star trek TV series episode MIRROR MIRROR, Kirk's double - twin has not been defeated by spock as we hoped. "Spock is logical and the mirror universe is illogical. If I know my Spocks, he'll..." well he didn't. The Kirk Twin is now Emperor Tiberius (ET) and he has enslaved humans and Vulcan alike. ET has left home and found a ...

A fun book
This is a fun book where Shatner pokes fun at himself, compliments people whom he finds talented and critisizes people whom he finds flawed. I thought this was a very evenly flowed written book, one of which I had a low expectation for but made me laugh with comments I did not expect. A good read.

Shatner RULES!!!
For all those complaining that this book is self-serving on Shatner's part, realize this book is about KIRK and SPOCK, not about the Next Generation!!! That said, Shatner writes the BEST Trek books, no doubt. Although RETURN is my true favorite, this one still weaves a good tale, and includes all the best characters. Yeah, I love Shatner, so I may already be a little prejudice in regards to other ...

Kirk and Spock
So far the best book that William Shatner has come out with, I've been impressed with his books since his teaming up with Judith & Garfield Reeves-Stevens. But this is by far the best. I've always wondered about how the two got into Starfleet and what it was like. I knew Spock's family was for a long time in disarray between father and son, but not for Kirk and his family. I look forward to ...

If you think you know how it all began, think again... Young Jim Kirk wants nothing to do with Starfleet, andnever wants to leave Earth. In the summer of 2249, he's a headstrong seventeen-year-old barely scraping by in San Francisco, haunted by horrific memories from his past. In the same city, a nineteen-year-old alien named Spock is determined to rise above the emotional turmoil of his mixed-species heritage. He's determined to show his ...

My first Star Trek book
This was the first Star Trek book I've ever read. I saw it in the store and was curious to see how Kirk interacted with Janeway and Picard. I bought it, read about 10 pages and set it aside. I'm not much of a reader and I don't have that many books. I was talking with my mother on the phone, about how bored I was, and she reminded me about reading books. I looked at this book on the floor of ...

Resistance is Futile. Drop yours shields. Comply!
This is a glorious book embodying the absolute finest work done by William Shatner. In a wonderful tribute to exploration, he trips, stumbles and collapses through his own confusion. But, as the Captain who I grew up to respect and admire, he bravely embarks on a voyage of discovery and adventure. He boldly goes where few have ventured before. Seriously, he clarified many thoughts, ideas, ...

SHAT-NER! SHAT-NER! SHAT-NER!!!
Funny, witty, creative, insightful, deep hearted, informative..etc. So many differnet terms you can use to describe this very enjoyable write up by the former Admiral Kirk himself. This late 1990's book takes the reader through a wide variety of emotions, knowledge and underground information when dealing with all things that go on at the various and too many to count "Star Trek Conventions" ...

One of the Best Kirk stories in a while...
Captain Kirk seems to be able to draw out action and adventure wherever he goes in the galaxy. In fact, in the last two books I have read, he draws it from even outside the galaxy!! No wonder this book betters the first one in the "Totality" Series. The book starts with an innocent battle between Kirk and his five-year-old son Joseph, who has a genetic code mixture fed into him from his ...

Part VI of the Kirk Saga. Kirk Vs. Kirk. Pulse pounding entertainment from beginning until end.
I literally counted down the months in between Dark Victory and Preserver because I wanted to read this book so bad. It seemed like an eternity until it came out, but when it finally did back in the summer of 2000 I wasn't let down one bit. I just reread the mirror universe saga and enjoyed it even more the second time around. Now, a little older and have a greater appreciate for excellent ...

Shatner comes into his own with a vengeance
Many authors take a while to come into their own, and Star Trek's William Shatner has done it with a vengeance in Man O' War, the first of two Benton Hawkes novels. Hawkes, the novel's protagonist, is an ambassador sent to mediate a rather thorny dispute between Red Planet, Inc, owners of the colony on Mars, and the men and women employed as laborers there. Upon arriving, however, he finds that ...

This Is What You Need
After reading this book, I was able to tell that William Shatner knows how to write! Not that I had any doubts, but this book is so intriguing, it feels like he is talking to me as a friend while I read. This is written like a documentary, and it is just as interesting. There are facts in here that I never knew, and stories are told about things that happened in front of and behind the camera. ...

Part VII of the Kirk Saga. Beginning of the end.
This is the first chapter of the Captain's trilogy that leads into what's in my opinion an excellent conclusion to the Kirk Saga. After a couple of year break in between the Mirror Universe trilogy and this trilogy I had lost some interest in Star Trek. Even all of William Shatner's novels have been excellent, I had started college when this book came out (Summer 2001) and just didn't read it. ...

Part IV of the Kirk Saga. Excellent beginning to the Mirror Universe trilogy.
I have always enjoyed the story of the mirror universe in Star Trek, and wish that it had been explored more in the t.v. series. William Shatner fulfulled my mirror universe lust with a trilogy that takes us the reader in to a spectacular story. Spectre is the first chapter of the mirror universe trilogy that informs us that Captain James T. Kirk's mirror counterpart "Tiberius" is wanting to ...

William Shatner waxes nostalgic about the "Star Trek" movies
After writing "Star Trek Memories" with Chris Kreski in 1993, William Shatner came back a year later with "Star Trek Movie Memories." Whereas Shatner was uncertain as to the fate of Captain James T. Kirk of the Starship "Enterprise" at the end of the first book, by the time he wrote the second the character had officially died in "Star Trek: Generations." This provided an obvious stopping point ...

Greetings! after the pointless death in the first next generation movie, William Shatner made a 40 page script for the next Star trek movie...paramount thought about $ and just wanted the TNG crew in the next movie series. a mistake, after 4 okay-ish TNG movies -i will not go into that now- the next movie will again take place in the TOS era... but what about that 40 page script for ...
