Music of the Spears: Aliens Series3 reviews
Yvonne Navarro

Spectra, 1996

Mozart and the Hive
This novel, because of its unique perspective and oddly toned outlook on the Alien influence on human behavior, is a must read for anyone who finds the alien appealing. Here, we are introduced to a type of obsessive that differs from any of the previous people encountered (in the reasoning behind his actions, that is), while still touching on that all-too-understood corporate manipulation ...

Red Shadows10 reviews
Yvonne Navarro

Spectra, 1998

Fascinating--a frightening and intriguing premise
I was so impressed by this book. It's my first by this author and I quickly surmised that it is a sequel, but that was on special order, so I went ahead and read this one anyway. It stands alone as a pretty powerful work of fiction that stayed with me after I'd finished. (a 2-sitting read because I was caught up in the characters. I am not a frequent reader of sf and/or apocalyptic ...

Final Impact7 reviews

Bantam, 1997

Apocalyptic Fiction At Its Best
First, I love apocalyptic fiction. Like most authors, however, I'm a bit picky. (g) I discovered Yvonne Navarro when one of the readers on my message board recommended her. I was not disappointed. FINAL IMPACT and its sequel RED SHADOWS are apocalyptic fiction at its best. They are fast paced, with great characters, and a story line that will make you shudder. I highly recommend both.

Tales of the Slayer, Volume 3 (Buffy the Vampire Slayer)8 reviews

Despite what everyone else said, I highly enjoyed this Book.
I really enjoyed this book. I got it last week and finished it within a couple of days. I had read the reviews that other people had posted and wasn't expecting much, in fact I was expecting it to be horrible. But luckily I'm one of those people who read what people say about things but that like to find out for myself if I actually like it. Most of the reviews have had people complaining that ...

The movie tie-in and more
So, you've seen the HELLBOY live action movie, and/or the animated material, loved it, and are thirsting for more tales of the red skinned chief investigator of the Bureau for Paranormal Research and Defense? Lucky for you there are several items currently available that should (at least temporarily) quench your thirst. If you'd like to relive the movie, try the HELLBOY novelization, by Yvonne ...

Tempted Champions (Buffy the Vampire Slayer)23 reviews
Yvonne Navarro

Simon Spotlight Entertainment, 2001

Awesome Buffy book
I really enjoyed Tempted Champions. This season 5 book was amazing. Celina, the vampire who used to be a slayer, made a perfect villian for Buffy to go up against. I also loved how Anya had to chose to either become a demon again or stay human. Some other things I liked about Tempted Champions include Angel being back in town, lots of parts with Spike, and many different times that made you think ...

The Willow Files, Vol. 221 reviews
Yvonne Navarro

Simon Spotlight Entertainment, 2001

SEASON THREE'S BEST EPISODES, BUFFY'S BEST NOVELIZATION.
"The Willow Files Volume 2" is one of the best novelizations of the Buffy series. It captures three amazing episodes revolving around Willow and tells them wonderfully. I had never seen "Dopelgangland" when i read this, later when i eventually saw it i was a little disapointed as the book had made it even better. This is a must-read for everyone, even if you have already seen the episodes .

Good book!
I like BTVS and was happy when this came out. The one thing is that it goes into more than Buffy which I like but if you want only Buffy do not get this book there are only two stories about her and the gang in this book, but if your into the whole mytho's then this is the book for you!

First Name Reverse Dictionary: Given Names Listed by Meaning2 reviews
Yvonne Navarro

McFarland & Company, 1993

a superb reference for writers!
this dictionary of first names has become indispensable to me as a writer. it is much easier to find a significant name for a character with this reverse book than it is by slogging through pages of alphabitacal names with their meaning. the book is cross-referenced well and has concise but detailed entries. it's a worthwhile investment!

Wicked Willow I: The Darkening (Buffy the Vampire Slayer) (Buffy the Vampire Slayer)23 reviews

Simon Spotlight Entertainment, 2004

Willow comes into her own
I'm glad there was a series of books written abou Willow. She's been in Buffy's shadow long enough. Even though they were best of friends and Willow never begrudged Buffy the limelight, everyone deserves a little attention, even though it's for the bad things we do. It's Human Nature! I haven't finished part 3 yet and hopefully it will end on a happy note! I love happy endings! But it's ...

Paleo (Buffy the Vampire Slayer)15 reviews
Yvonne Navarro

Simon Spotlight Entertainment, 2000

Navarro knows her Buffy!
After reading a few reviews here at amazon, I decided to pick up Paleo at my local book store. I am a huge fan of Buffy books and needed to add it to my collection. What a wonderful surprise! Yvonne Navarro really knows her Buffy as far as the mythology. She built an intriguing story that had everything we expect from Buffy, including dinosaurs; and she executed it well. At first look I ...

Nancy Holder, Yvonne Navarro, ...

Simon Spotlight Entertainment, 2000

Two pretty good Buffy tales out of six is not all that bad
I made of point of finally reading "How I Survived My Summer Vacation, Volume 1" after watching the first season from of "Buffy the Vampire Season" in chronological order, so I could appreciate the attempt of this collection of short stories to answer the question "What REALLY happened that summer after sophomore year?" But it soon became clear that what is involved her is less filling in the ...

Species: A Novel1 review
Yvonne Navarro, Dennis Feldman

Bantam, 1995

Sil is loose!
Catch that female alien before it copulates and mankind evanesces! This is what "Species" is about. A hunt for an alien woman called Sil, who keeps managing to avoid being nailed on a desperate hunt to reproduce. That hunt sure gets irksome from time to time. An okay book which is interesting at times.

Wicked Willow II: Shattered Twilight (Buffy the Vampire Slayer)14 reviews

Aladdin, 2004

Willow Rules!
I love to play the "what if" game and this is a really good book that shows what could have happened if Xander hadn't gotten through to the "good" in Willow when he reminded her of he yellow crayon. It felt almost like watching a Buffy episode. Well written book - I will watch for more of Ms. Mavarro's writings.

Skull Full of Spurs9 reviews
Richard Laymon, Brian Hodge, ...

Dark Highway Press, 2000

"A round up worth reading"
I'm always wary of any collection of stories. Usually you get couple good ones, a couple mediocre ones and the rest is largely forgettable if not just plain crap. This anthology breaks that mold by having quality throughout. From the first spell-binding tale by Brian Hodge of a man who just won't die, to the last by Robert Devereaux of sexual insatiability, these stories keep you wanting ...

Elektra2 reviews
Yvonne Navarro, Zak Penn

Pocket Star, 2004

In my Opinion, Better than the Movie (Keyword "my Opinion")
I loved the book because there were more scenes in the book that weren't in the movie or that were just deleted out of the movie. I like Elektra because I like how she is just so cold and never wants to get close with someone because she doesn't want to hurt them our herself. I also like her because of the weapons that she uses (their pretty cool). Anyways I gave this book 5 stars because like I ...

Ultraviolet5 reviews
Yvonne Navarro

Grand Central Publishing, 2006

yeah, don't be a toolbox, just read it.
Anywya, this book is good, it developes more of story, because they had to edit a lot from the movie to make it PG-13. it was originally rated R, but they wanted to please the audiences. i pray they make an unrated version when it comes out, which should be soon considering that it is tanking in theaters. It's not the best movie in the world, but it tried and also I have seen a lot worse. try the ...

Willow Files (Buffy the Vampire Slayer (Pocket Hardcover Numbered))1 review
Yvonne Navarro

Topeka Bindery, 1999

A trio of early episodes focusing on Willow Rosenberg
It is interesting to look back and see how few episodes during the first three seasons of "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" actually focused on our beloved Willow. The Wicca in training is pivotal in two of these three novelized tales and has a great speech but minor role in the third. From the first season we have "I, Robot . . . You, Jane" in which Willow accidentally unleashes Moloch the Corruptor ...
