Homefront 18 reviews Kristen Tsetsi
Penxhere Press, 2007
Awesome! Every once in a while I will start a book and never want it to end. It's very rare. I usually enjoy finishing a book so I can get started on a new one.
But with Kristen Tsetsi's 'Homefront', I wish it was a never ending serial novel, with new chapters appearing magically every day.
I was supposed to start this book weeks ago, but because of work and school assignments I had to put it off until ...

Swept Away 19 reviews Marsha Canham
Dell, 1999
Excellent story! Romance and mystery that keep you at the edge of your seat. Great stories like this one are so rare. Something more than sex and a frivolous plot... A tale that gets me completely enthralled. Canham has written some of my favorite books (Blood of Roses, Pride of Lions), and she has written some that were a big disappointment for me (In the Shadow of Midnight). "Swept Away" is definitely one of her best.
Annaleah is a young heiress whose parents ...

Swept Away (The Secret of the Unicorn Queen Book 1) 27 reviews Josepha Sherman
Ballantine Books, 1988
If you like Harry Potter, you'll love this series! At the ages of 7-9, I was a very sick little girl. After coming home from getting stuck by needles at the doctor's office, my mom bought me this book. I think I finished the book in just under 2 days. I just couldn't put it down! It has everything; adventure, romance, drama, magic, and of course... unicorns! What an escape for anyone with an active imagination! This was a dose of girl-power and ...

Come Away My Beloved 33 reviews Frances J. Roberts
Barbour Publishing, Incorporated, 2002
Most precious book, best book I've ever read I first got this book as a gift in 1996 and it's been a great part of my daily life all these years. I've bought several copies over the years for family and friends and it's the most beloved book and heart touching devotional I've ever read. I've never read it cover to cover, but instead pray for direction and open to where I'm lead. God has never failed me and spoken to my heart every time ...

The Farthest - Away Mountain 32 reviews
Listening Library, 1997
One of my most memorable and happy part of my childhood I remember my mother reading this book to my twin sister and me. It was a hard back copy that she had gotten from the Library. My sister and I would come down out of our bunk beds and sit on the floor with my mother as we were enthralled to listen to her read this story. I loved the colored snow and the gargoyals. When I was married and had my first child I desired to read this book to my son ...

The Breakaway Cook: Recipes That Break Away from the Ordinary 23 reviews Eric Gower
William Morrow Cookbooks, 2007
Definitely a "must have" cookbook I buy cookbooks as a hobby but this is one of the very few cookbooks that I have actually used more than a few times. The first recipe I tried was "Minty, Meaty Wontons". Sounds exotic and difficult, but it was actually easy to prepare and incredibly tasty. Then I went on to try "Minty, Boozy Chicken" and "Pizzettas". All were a hit with my family and friends. Eric's recipes are original, ...

Alpha Pub (E), 2001
Not just for the top execs I guess I'm one of the fortunate ones. I had the opportunity to work with Tom and Gus for a few years back when they first birthed Systems Consulting Group. I spent quite a bit of time with Gus and noticed from day one that he had an uncanny way with people. So I paid close attention and began to soak up all I could. I'm not wired like Gus is motivationally, nor am I gifted with his charismatic ...

An Invisible Man: The Hunt for a Serial Killer Who Got Away With a Decade of Murder 12 reviews Stephanie A. Stanley
Berkley, 2006
VERY WELL WRITTEN I read loads of true crime, and this one is very well written and is a good story. I wasn't familiar with this case and I like to learn the details of a case as I go along, and that is the way this is written. Some true crimes give the ending away in a preface, or a first chapter which I do not like. This is very a very intersting case of a serial killer, and I can only imagine the horror this ...

Library of America, 1988
Just Read It All The complaints about the poor organization of the collection can be overcome by simply reading it from front to back. Surely it is that good.
My foray into the works of Flannery O'Connor, a southern, gothic author of darkly humorous novels and short stories came via a recommendation in Harold Bloom's, "What to Read and Why." As it turned ot, I had read one of her short stories, "A Good Man ...
