The American ideal of 1776: The twelve basic American principles5 reviews
Hamilton Abert Long

Your Heritage Books, 1976

Best Scholarly Constitutional Study Ever Written!
My personal copy of (an earlier edition?) "Your American Yardstick: Twelve Basic American Principles Underlying The Traditional American Philosophy Of Man-Over-Government" is one of my most cherished books! Mr. Long was an exceptional constitutional scholar, and an amazingly clear and concise author. Principle One: The Spiritual Is Supreme Principle Two: Fear of Government-over-Man Principle ...

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR): Basic Principles, Protocols, and Procedures, 2nd Edition10 reviews
Francine Shapiro

The Guilford Press, 2001

Recommend!
Easy to read and helpful for understanding the process of EMDR. I would have to agree with the previous reviewer Laura M that PEACEFUL HEART : A Woman's Journey to Healing is a must-read. Aimee Jo Martin's story clearly illustrates and details her journey with successful EMDR treatments. Quite powerful if you want to really see how effective EMDR can be.

Breaking and Training the Stock Horse (and Teaching Basic Principles of Dressage)6 reviews
Charles O. Williamson

Caxton, 1968

It is the only book the horses have read, too.
When we started Greentree Ranch in 1962, a dear friend gave us a copy of this book. After reading and using the methods described herein we discovered how dear that friend really was. My mother always said, "It is the only book the horses have read, too." and she was right. We have used it as the basis of our training here on the ranch since we began and will probably use it forever.

The Instant Economist: All The Basic Principles Of Economics In 100 Pages Of Plain Talk4 reviews
John Charles Pool, Ross M. Laroe

Basic Books, 1986

A great introduction to macro/microeconomics!
This book is an easy-to-read introduction to fundamental macro, micro, and international economic theory. The reason the book is so effective is that it is written in dialogue; the "plot" involves a budding manager talking to his father's former college economics professor. By telling otherwise dull theory in a story form, the author effectively enlightens the reader on important economic ...

Power System Operation4 reviews
Robert H. Miller, James H. Malinowski

McGraw-Hill Professional, 1994

Excellent developmental tool for Power System Operators
Power System Operation provides a well structured knowledge base and reference for the new and seasoned power system operator. It will serve as the foundational and theoretical basis for many of the experienced based knowledge that is passed from operator to operator. I would recommend that all power system operators be equipped with this book as must read material.

How to Enjoy the Bible: 12 Basic Principles for Understanding God's Word8 reviews
E. W. Bullinger

Kregel Classics, 2004

Bullinger is remarkable
Dr. Bullinger was one of those rare Christians that sought to find the truth at any cost. He was not content with the "status quo" of traditionally orthodoxy. His books remain monumental to seekers of truth. His books dig further than any modern writer has done on the subjects he undertook. His Greek Concordance and dictionary are still widely used today. His awesome book on "Figures of Speech" ...

Basic Accounting Concepts, Principles and Procedures2 reviews
Gregory R. Mostyn

Worthy & James Pub., 2007

An Accounting Tutor's Opinion
I tutor basic accounting at the college level and have been able to see students use several different textbooks including this one. This text is quite thorough but still easy to understand. One of the great things about this text is it makes debits and credits really clear. Students who use this text, and its companion volume, tend to understand debits and credits very well and this is ...

Everything you know about design principles but forgot
Pros: A definite must-have book and recommended reading for designers, artists and teachers. However, there is a section on objects in 3D ...

Gender Equity in Islam: Basic Principles3 reviews
Jamal A. Badawi

American Trust Publications, 1995

Recommended for Muslims before anyone else...
please don't buy into the portrayal of Islam as oppressive and unfair to women. Learn as much as you can before jumping on the hate bandwagon. There's more to life than just what YOU may hold to be true. Again, for a good explanation of the status of women and men in Islam, study this work by a great contemporary Islamic scholar, an excellent speaker, and a true gentleman. As-Salaamu ...

The Basic Principles of Effective Consulting2 reviews
Linda K. Stroh; Homer H. Johnson

Lawrence Erlbaum Associates, 2005

Review of Book
Great book! I liked how the book goes through each step of the consulting process. Follow the steps and you can't go wrong. Probably the best feature is the practical advice given in each of the chapters. For example, the authors tell you what questions to ask in the first meeting with a client, how to write a successful proposal and contract, how to conduct interviews, how to collect data, how ...

The Rorschach, Basic Foundations and Principles of Interpretation Volume 13 reviews
John E. Exner

Wiley, 2002

An Updated Classic
As a clinical psychologist who uses the Rorschach regularly and teaches it to graduate students, I have always relied upon this volume as a bible of sorts for all-things-Rorschach. The newest edition is a wonderful updating of the classic. Despite being about the same number of pages as the last edition, this volume packs much more information in, and is written in a more concise and relevant ...

God, Man, and Law: The Biblical Principles3 reviews
Herbert W. Titus

Institute in Basic Life Principles, 1994

Required reading for attorneys and law schools
Every attorney, and certainly every person going to law school, or thinking about it, should read this book. There is no other author that provides such a clear understanding of the basis of our laws in such an easy-to-read style (something woefully lacking in most academic writing and textbooks), or who so eloquently addresses the philosophical conformity that has become prevalent in American ...
