The Passionate Beader's Guide (Leisure Arts #4329) 1 review Bead Unique magazine; Leisure Arts
Leisure Arts, Inc, 2007
Beads and fun! How many books invite you to write in them? This one does! Each project has a place where you can make notes. What a great idea. How many times have you made something, made a small change and then wanted to recreate it days or months later only to NOT be able to remember what you did? I know I have and this note column makes remembering what I did possible.
Bracelets, necklaces, ...

Metal Clay for Beaders 7 reviews Irina Miech
Kalmbach, 2006
Great Book for both mediums I was pleasantly surprised by this book. The pictures and ideas for projects were new and very inspiring...not easy when there are so many books out on the subjects. A good review on the different types of metal clay and how each can be used. This book is a valuable addition a metal clay and beaders library and well worth the price.

Inventive Metal Clay for Beaders: Exciting Projects for All Levels 4 reviews Irina Miech
Kalmbach, 2008
beautiful book All I can say after going through this book is WOW, I need to get started doing metal clay! The donut on the front cover is what attracted me to this book since I love this style jewelry. She has quite a few designs that are along this line and it will be a great asset to have as a reference.
There are 6 beginning projects from simple spirals made from snake shaped clay to a clever heirloom ...

More Metal Clay for Beaders: 18 Innovative Projects 4 reviews Irina Miech
Kalmbach, 2007
More Metal Clay for Beaders-18 Projects This book on working PMC clay is the best one I've ever seen. I don't have the first book, but would love to see that one as well, if it is as comprehensive and inspiring as this one is. I do recommend this book to anyone new to metal clay, or anyone who's already having fun with this creative substance. As a matter of fact, I did my first PMC metal clay project with my sister, and I liked this ...

The Beader's Guide to Color 23 reviews Margie Deeb
Watson-Guptill, 2004
For Delica beadwork and those interested in successful color combinations in beadwork A definite must have book for all Delica beadworkers AND for those that really want a useful, classic book on color theory applied to beading. Deeb's book uses Delica beads (and their appropriate numbers) to provide stimulating examples of the best uses of color for a multitude of designs. However, you don't have to use seed beads to appreciate the HIGH quality of this book when in comes to ...

Bead Knitted Bags: 10 Projects for Beaders and Knitters 5 reviews Julia S Pretl
Creative Publishing international, 2006
Been looking for a book like this for a long time This is a very nice little book on knitting with beads. I've been looking for a book on the topic of knitting beaded bags for quite a while and this one explains it very well. The DVD really shows you how to do it. My only complaint (a small one) is that the DVD is a little hard to figure out. It shows how to knit both from the left and the right which is confusing if you choose the wrong one. ...

Crochet for Beaders: 18 Stunning Jewelry Projects 1 review Ruth Herring
Martingale and Company, 2007
One of the best books of this type! I have at least 6 books for knitting and crocheting jewelry, and this is one of the best. The how-to photos are full color and very detailed and show many steps for each pattern. But the best part is the designs...some are simple and elegant....some are more complicated....but all very beautiful and do-able. Love this book!

A Beader's Reference 6 reviews Jane Davis
Krause Publications, 2003
useful AND inspirational the previous reviewer hit all the highpoints. the charts are wonderful. i particularly appreciate the charts for beaded crochet, since i haven't been able to find many (this is not to say that they aren't out there, just that i haven't found them). a very nice touch is the inclusion of a color key for each chart--you can see at a glance what colors are needed. there are several sections, ...

Beadwork Magazine Presents: The Beader's Companion 25 reviews Judith Durant, Jean Campbell
Interweave Press, 1998
Excellent Reference Book After having taken a week long course in beading and then returning to the "real world" where I did not get to bead for a few weeks, I found that I could easily pick up this book for a quick review and follow the step by step instructions easily and with excellent results. I also own the same series for knitting and have referred to that for years when I needed a review. I believe that even a ...

Beader's Stash: Designs from America's Favorite Bead Shops 6 reviews Laura Levaas
Interweave Press, 2006
Like going into a beadshop None of the stores are known to me and almost none of the designers. What interests me today is beadweaving and there are some really nice projects here. Each project gives the technique, list of beads required and interesting information on the shop which presented the item. There's a spiral necklace, peyote rings bracelet, peyote cuff by Shanigan, beaded beads bracelet with tubular right angle ...

Hip to Bead: 32 Contemporary Projects for Today's Beader (Hip to . . . Series) 12 reviews Katie Hacker
Interweave Press, 2006
Just what this beady girl was looking for... This book is full of fun ideas that look wonderful (the photography is great--images of the ENTIRE projects, nothing cut out) without being too fussy. I like instant-gratification beading, and "Hip to Bead" is filled with this type of projects. It isn't limited to simple projects, though. I'd call most of the projects "one-cup-of-tea" projects, but there are some "two-to-three-cup" projects. The ...

The Impatient Beader 16 reviews Margot Potter
North Light Books, 2005
Margot taught me everything Almost everything I know about making jewelry I learned from Margot Potter's Impatient Beader book. Seriously. I bought this book because after a winter of being snowed in with nothing to do, I found myself obsessively shopping online auctions and buying piles of pretty beads. I had no idea what to do with them, so I needed to learn--quickly. Margot's book was exactly what I needed. It has ...

Sparkletastic: 50 Dazzling Jewelry and Fashion Projects for the Discriminating Diva (Impatient Beader) 9 reviews Margot Potter
North Light Books, 2007
Sparkletastic inspires me The Impatient Beader series is my favorite line of beading books. I like that the projects are geared to a variety of ages and styles...there's really something for everyone. The step by steps are easy to follow and the helpful hints provided me with important information. I like that this is written in 1st person, and it makes it more casual and less technical that way.
The photography and ...

The Beader's Color Mixing Directory: 200 failsafe color schemes for beautiul beadwork 21 reviews Sandra Wallace
Krause Publications, 2007
So pretty to look at, not much for patterns I often will leave this book on my coffee table just because it is so pretty to look at. It does have lots of great color combinations and might help inspire you. Most of the color theory was very basic, but some parts were helpful around how colors interact (i.e., how changing the surrounding colors will impact how one color looks). Most samples shown to give the color schemes were seed bead ...
