I was deeply moved by this passionate and elegant depiction of a world we seldom see, that of the good Germans in the WWII period, and of the way that the evil around them impinged on their lives, and of the ways that their lives kept right on going despite all that. My dad reads me nursery rhymes all the time. This is one of my favourites. We have it on Mondays, Wednesdays and at the weekends.
