Expaning on Skinnerian Ideology
As a book about Behavior Analysis, this book doesn't do bad at all. It has its pros and cons as all books do, and it does adopt something of a dogmatic approach when it comes to Skinnerian belief - as many ABA professions do. Still, that is the way of ABA and, in many rights, it does need to be acknowledged in order to understand how to truly help people. Pros: It courts many of the mottos ...

Fascinating book, well written.
This is the most interesting "textbook" I've ever read. It has a lot of case studies and examples, plus excerpts from articles and books that are related to the topics. The book itself is well-organized and thorough. As I read it I kept wishing I'd taken a course in behavior analysis when I was in college.

Behavioral Detectives
This book examines several behavioral case studies in a user-friendly format. The content of this book is enlightening and absorbing, while laced with the sardonic sense of humor of Dr. Newman. As a speech-language pathologist who knew close to nothing about ABA, I would wholeheartedly recommend this book to anyone involved with a child on the spectrum--or for anyone who simply would like a ...

Behaviorspeak: A must have for parents of children with autism
Behaviorspeak is an excellent book for everyone involved in the lives of children with autism. The authors take the technical terminology of Applied Behavior Analysis and make it accessible and understandable to the layperson. The authors also provide professionals in the field of ABA with a deeper understanding of common terms and procedures. As both a parent of a child with autism and a ...

First Step to My Doctorate
Principles of Everyday Behavior Analysis makes learning a basic behavioral repertoire virtually effortless. I am amused by the reviewer who gave this book one star because it was "dumbed down". I had this text in my first course in applied behavior analysis. It was the most pleasant learning experience I'd ever encountered, and made me a true believer in programmed instruction. It enabled me to ...

Reduced Price Makes Text A More Reasonable Buy
I noticed a significant drop in price for this textbook. Therefore I'd like to revise my rating up to four stars. Schloss and Smith do provide a fine review of ABA in the classroom. Its a good solid elementary text. True some topics are not covered, but perhaps there will be a more advanced text in the future.

Most frequently found in my photocopier!
With all respect due to copyright law, Greer & Ross's Verbal Behavior Analysis is the single text that I find most frequently off the shelf and in my overburdened all-in-one printer-fax-scanner-photocopier unit. I have purchased eight copies already, giving them away whenever needed by colleagues and friends. As a field supervisor working with ABA teachers and teacher assistants in the ...

Years pass and still this gleams
There are a few things about this book that should be said right away. First, this is not really an introductory book to ABA, but works as a book that ties so many theories together. That means that it could be used in conjunction with many starter ABA books, allowing its reader to get a feel of just what ABA means. The book also works on both a Masters and a PhD level when it comes to conceptual ...

For learning about ABA and relating to school you cannot beat this book...
My title states it all. The 7th edition trumps the phenomenal 6th edition in it's inclusion of IDEA 2004/NCLB concepts. It is well worth the price difference between this book and most ABA books.

Most important text since Cooper, Heron, & Heward
This text explains EXACTLY how to make the everyday practice of teaching with ABA work BEYOND the one-to-one home program for a single student. It is the most comprehensive extension of "what to do and how to do it" since Cooper, Heron, & Heward's "Applied Behavior Analysis." What Dr. Greer dubs the "ABA Systems Approach" springs from the university informing comprehensive application of ...

An excellent book from the prolific Bobby Newman.
A Review of Graduated Applied Behavior Analysis An excellent book from the prolific Bobby Newman. This is Bobby's third book on the application of behavior analysis to helping children with autism. All three books, are excellent reads--warm, humanistic, humorous, informal, and anecdotal (case-studyish), easy, fun, but not condescending, written for parents, trainers, tutors, and teachers of ...

Now in softcover for the first time, the most comprehensive guide to behavioral treatment for these prevalent yet understudied disorders. As upsetting as they are to clients, tics, trichotillomania, and oral-digital habits such as thumb-sucking and nail-biting tend to be resistant to traditional forms of therapy. The repetitiveness of their actions, however, makes these dissimilar disorders particularly receptive to behavioral treatment. ...

Very clear book
Prof. Nofsinger is well know for his insights over the emerging behavioral finance. in this remarkable book, he combines a traditional "Investments" course with many examples of behavorial pitfalls that investors are faced with. From a pedagogical point, it is very well constructed and very readable. What is missing is the maths.... but for that, I would recommend the best-in-class book: ...
