Rediscovering the Kingdom 42 reviews Myles Munroe
Destiny Image Publishers, 2004
Rediscovering Our Destiny If you're looking for a proper understanding of the Kingdom of God and the message Jesus preached and the message we need to preach today, I highly recommend this book by Dr. Myles Munroe.
There is really no good news without the good news of the Kingdom of God. John preached it. Jesus preached. Paul preached it. We need to preach it.
Salvation is not about "going to heaven when we die." ...

The Believer's Study Bible: New King James Version 9 reviews
Thomas Nelson Inc, 1991
THE BEST STUDY BIBLE EVER The Believer's Study Bible is the best Study Bible that I have ever had the privilege to use. The book introductions, study notes, and charts are most helpful in clarifying things that might otherwise be difficult to understand. I've shared information from this Bible with students in my Sunday Bible Study Class. I've given this Bible as gifts to friends and to my husband, who is a pastor. ...

The Making of a Believer: From the Rice Paddies of Viet Nam to the Cornfields of Iowa 18 reviews Thoi Nguyen
PublishAmerica, 2005
The Making Of A Believer I have recommended this book to all my friends. It is a great read. The author keeps you engaged at all times giving you a very insightful look at the Vietnam War. As an American who has often woundered about how I should view the War, it was very helpful. He also shows how his new Christian faith was directly involved in his escape to the Iowa cornfields.
Very inspirational.

Welcome to the Revolution: A Field Guide For New Believers 11 reviews Brian Tome
Thomas Nelson, 2008
Great Read for any Christian, but especially for a new Believer This book was great. I kept thinking to myself as I read it, wow, I wish I would have had this when I first was exploring / coming to know God. It is straight-forward, aside from some welcomed humor, that breaks down many preconceived notions and perceptions of Christianity. What it does fabulously is help separate religion from Christianity and how God relates to all. Well done Mr. Tome. I ...

True Believers 10 reviews Doug Richardson
William Morrow, 1999
Doug Richardson is a masterful storyteller! "True Believers" is neatly woven and compelling with a fabric populated by real people caught up in lives and a political arena that is all too real... As an avid reader and a (screen/t.v.) writer for over twenty years "True Belivers" captured my attention totally. I couldn't put it down until I finished the last page. It is a taut, suspenseful rollercoaster ride, filled with people and a ...

The Authority of the Believer 7 reviews John A. MacMillan
Christian Publications, 1998
If you are only going to get a single book, get this one... The Authority of the Believer
This book was referenced in Ken Hagin's book, "The Believers Authority". While Ken's book is a great read, this book goes into more depth on demonic influences and forces in our lives. Using this book and the Word, you can combat the evil one with the utmost confidence and authority.
The Church has given up a lot of authority to the devil. I have often asked ...

God's Favorite House 10 reviews Tommy Tenney
Destiny Image Publishers, 2000
It's not about us at all... If you've ever sat in a church service and wondered why the worship leaders didn't pick more songs you liked to sing or if you've ever snuck a yawn during the service, THEN YOU WON'T BE THE SAME AFTER YOU READ THIS BOOK. As I was reading it, I felt my heart laid open, the sin of not giving the Lord His rightful place exposed, and then found myself moved into repentance by the third chapter. ...

A Mosaic of Believers: Diversity and Innovation in a Multiethnic Church 5 reviews Gerardo Marti
Indiana University Press, 2005
Phenomenal MUST Read for Emerging Christianity This book is an artform. The work is an in-depth glimpse of the inner-workings of the emerging church that many philosophize and prophesize about, yet never have the opportunity to live within. The care and balance that Marti brought to the project as a pastor and scholar was obvious and reassuring. I am confident that Gerardo's work will provide a methodological basis that provides others with ...

Powerful In the first of six studies, Bishop Jakes takes the reader on a journey through the first book of Ephesians. The book opens by providing a history lesson as to the type of people the Ephesians were, and the lifestyles to which they were accustomed. The books discusses the apostle Paul's relationship to the Ephesians. It explains that although they were wealthy and enjoyed the finer things in ...

Wasted on Jesus : Reaching for the Lover of Your Soul 5 reviews Jim W. Goll
Destiny Image Publishers, 2001
Contemplation & Meditation This book gave me a whole new desire and passion for meditating on God or His Word. The author pulls in a lot of quotes from different monks and nuns who were consistent in this necessary way of beginning to know God. It is deep reading, but very good. I definitely suggest it!

Studies in the Sermon on the Mount: God's Character and the Believer's Conduct 6 reviews Oswald Chambers
Paganiniana Publications, 1999
Indispensible Insights into Jesus' Teaching Among all the doctrine, parables, and lessons of the Bible, none is as difficult to walk in as The Sermon on the Mount. Jesus' teachings, captured in Matthew 5, challenge and convict all thoughtful believers.
Oswald Chambers offers radical insights into those difficult-to-live-out principles. For example:
"The Sermon on the the Mount produces despair in the heart of the natural man, and ...

Baghdad Believer 4 reviews J Nealson
Mill City Press, 2007
An examination of truth and culture From the first page to the last sentence I was taken with the rich detail of Jay Nealson's account of an Iraqi Muslim's attempts to see the difference between, "...truth and culture..." This is more than the story of one man's journey toward Christ. It is a realistic look at the spiritual risks and opportunities that exist for Muslim's in a war torn nation. Time and again, Jay Nealson's prose ...

By the way, who isn't in need of GOD and His ...

The True Believer 5 reviews Eric Hoffer
Perenial Library, 1966
Required High School Reading I was given this book by my new Stepfather at age 19 in 1967. He had observed my flirtation, if not the beginning of a slide, with radical social activism. Mr Hoffer helped me to see that my attractions to these movements, which have largely been abandoned by even their most ardent proponents, were largely projections of unresolved and indeed unfaced inner coflicts. Thanks Dad. Thanks Mr ...
