Belly Button Boy 3 reviews
Dial, 2000
ALL four of my kids love this This is a simple, fun book. My kids are 8, 6, 4, and 2. All of them love this one and I do to. Helps to stress the importance of washing in the hard to get places, with humor. Rhyming text is creative and I really like the cross section of the offending belly button. Layers of lint, loam, topsoil etc. with a seed at the bottom. Now use your imagination!

Tasty Baby Belly Buttons 4 reviews Judy Sierra
Dragonfly Books, 2001
Momotaro reworked! As a Japanese language teacher in a Primary school, I have always shared the story of Momotaro with my students who are really fascinated with the oni (demons) and Momotaro's bravery and kindness. I was thrilled to find this new reworking of the traditional story with a female "hero" who was born from a large melon rather than a peach, and sets off to Onigashima to rescue the babies from the ...

Who Has a Belly Button 2 reviews Mary Batten
Peachtree Publishers, 2003
Fun, informative and great springboard for conversation.. I read this to my 4 year old boy and he was totally engrossed in it. It provides a very natural springboard to other conversations regarding bodies, facts of life, etc. Plus the illustrations are great - good lines, colors. Multicultural and because it also shows other mammals, very attention-getting. Would recommend without hesitation.

Bottomless Belly Button 2 reviews Shaw Dash
Fantagraphics Books, 2008
Graphic Life Shaw's marvelous graphic novel extols the emotional distance between family members and the individuals from themselves. Members of the aptly- and humanity inclusively-named Looney family gather to receive word that their parents are divorcing after 40+ years of marriage. What unfolds is a tripartite discovery process of themselves, their relationships both inside and out of the family, and their ...

¿Dónde está el ombliguito? (Where Is Baby's Belly Button?): Un libro para levantar ta tapita por Karen Katz ... 177 reviews
Libros Para Ninos, 2004
I'm so tired of reading it it! My 13 month old daughter LOVES this book! She wants me to read it all day everyday. When she is walking around more often than not she has it in her hands. She like pointing to the babies and lifting the flaps. Your child may or may not be as intersted in the book as she is but its worth a shot.

RE: Belly Button Lint 2 reviews Brooke West
CreateSpace, 2008
Laughing, crying, and wanting more In the "chick lit" genere it's hard to stand out, but Ms. West does so with style. Characters you love, characters you hate and some you wish you were, or at least could get away with what they do in real life. I can't wait for the sequel.

Piggy's Belly Button 3 reviews Keith Faulkner
Random House Books for Young Readers, 2003
Entertainment Value: A+ (good giggles) & Learning Point: delayed gratification. I agree with the other two posts so far. I would argue that if one is hoping to use this book as an example of a moral lesson, to seek out other books. The "moral" of the story (to listen to your mother) does not turn out to be a lesson but rather just a silly notion for smiles, only. I do wonder what my 2.5 year old must make of Piggy pushing his belly button and essentially "blowing out" his ...

The Boy with Two Belly Buttons 2 reviews Stephen J. Dubner
HarperCollins, 2007
My nephew laughed I bought this book because I loved Freakonomics and wanted to support Stephen Dubner, but I wasn't sure how good it would be...I have read tons of "great books for kids" that I was less than impressed with...But, this was really cute. My 3 1/2 year old nephew paid attention when I read it to him, he laughed out loud and even asked to hear it again. That is a good sign to me. There is a "famous ...

When the Belly Button Pops, the Babys Done: A Month-by-Month Guide to Surviving (and Loving) Your Pregnancy 12 reviews Lorilee Craker
WaterBrook Press, 2002
A "Must Give" Gift for Baby Showers! Desperately searching for a cute book to give an expectant friend, I again turned to Lorilee Craker's fresh, fun style of writing. And I, too, could not disagree more w/ Spelly regarding the spiritual content of this book. While the vast majority of books on pregnancy and childbirth are secular in nature, it was wonderful to find one that had a spiritual ~ no, CHRISTIAN ~ content. The Biblical ...

Flower Belly Button Tattoos (Temporary Tattoos) 1 review Charlene Tarbox
Dover Publications, 1998
Not just for navels! This Dover Little Book has eight lovely, detailed pictures of flowers arranged in rings. Some of them can be cut apart into two or three separate little tattoos, or they can be applied around a smaller design you might have (fingernail designs, for example.) The pictures range from tulips to asters to pansies. They also make neat gifts for... friends.

The Boy Who Lost His Belly Button 3 reviews Jeanne Willis
Andersen Press Ltd, 1999
The Boy Who Lost His Belly Button This was one of the best childrens books that I have read in quite a while. The illustrations were well done and the wording was done in a fashion that younger children were able to follow quite closely, which some books fail to do. I work at a library and the children that I read it to were quite taken with it.

We've All Got Bellybuttons! 4 reviews David Martin
Candlewick, 2005
from SherriAllen.com "We've All Got Bellybuttons!," written by David Martin and illustrated by Randy Cecil, is a picturebook that does more than just tell a story. It invites your young child to have fun with the characters. There are body parts to be identified, motions to be performed and, best of all, lots and lots of giggles.
The elephants start the fun with "We've got ears, and you do too. We can pull ...

Contemplating Your Bellybutton (My Body Science) 7 reviews Jun Nanao
Kane/Miller Book Publishers, 1995
A Wonderful Book! My two year old daughter *loves* this book - she'd have me read it 20 times a day if I were willing. This is a great book for explaining pregnancy and birth to a small child. I also love the fact that it portrays the mom giving birth in what appears to be an upright [squating perhaps] position - very nice. [You see mom's breasts, but nothing indiscreet or too graphic.] It also shows mom ...

Do Whales Have Belly Buttons: Questions and Answers About Whales and Dolphins (Berger, Melvin. Scholastic ... 1 review Melvin Berger
Scholastic Reference, 1999
Very informative and fun to read. It is a book that is a bunch of questions you might ask about Whales and Dolphins. This book answered most of my questions about Dolphins and Whales. It had good pictures to explain the answer to the questions how the animals lived. Even though the questions were short, the answers came out long and explained well.
