A Walk in the Woods: Rediscovering America on the Appalachian Trail 60 reviews Bill Bryson
Anchor, 2006
Probably Bryson's Best Book I bought this book as a replacement for a lost borrowed book. I had started reading it in Phoenix when I lost it. But the few pages I read there prompted me to buy this book from Amazon when I returned home. (And yes, I did return the new book to the lender.)

Body for Life: 12 Weeks to Mental and Physical Strength 938 reviews Bill Phillips, Michael D'Orso
Collins Living, 1999
Body For Life is for real Body for Life: 12 Weeks to Mental and Physical Strength
I bought the book because I wanted to know what a friend of mine was doing. She bought the book because a friend told her about it. My friend saw her friend's transformation and wanted to share it with me. I've got the book and am now transforming myself! I had to tell my friends. Get in the gym. Eat right. Work hard. You will get ...

Hot Prospects: The Proven Prospecting System to Ramp Up Your Sales Career 2 reviews Bill Good
Scribner, 2008
Bill Good updates his classic work The concepts in this book have changed the way I think about prospecting and have helped me dramatically improve the results from my prospecting calls every day. I have used Bill Good's concepts to build a niche business (retirement plan advice) from the ground up. I have used the Internet resources in this book to find the names of retirement plan participants to call at work, during the day. I ...

Harrington on Hold 'em Expert Strategy for No Limit Tournaments, Vol. 1: Strategic Play 228 reviews Dan Harrington, Bill Robertie
Two Plus Two Pub., 2004
Best book(s) in tournament poker I think Harrington's book and it's sequels are the best books ever written about no limit hold'em tournaments. The first part of the series covers strategic concepts about tournament poker, the second part tells how to play in the ending of a tournament, and third part is the workbook for reviewing the concepts of first two books.
Before reading this book (and the sequels), I have been mostly ...

We Might As Well Win: On the Road to Success with the Mastermind Behind a Record-Setting Eight Tour de France ... 15 reviews Johan Bruyneel, Bill Strickland
Houghton Mifflin, 2008
Tearing The Cranks Off The only problem with the book is that it's too short! If you watch the Tour De France on TV you will love this book. The book covers everything from Johan's surprisingly successful career as a professional cyclist to the inside story about Lance's bluff on Alpe d'Huez. And it's quite well written. Even if you're a sports fan but not yet a cycling fan it's a great read.

The Big Sort: Why the Clustering of Like-Minded America Is Tearing Us Apart 11 reviews Bill Bishop
Houghton Mifflin, 2008
The Big Sort is a Big Hit It may take a journalist to write an important work on politics that can be understood and enjoyed by those without a PhD in political science. This is essential reading for those who want to understand where the rubber meets the road in American politics at the grassroots level. It is a penetrating analysis that is also thoughtful, thoroughly researched and very well-written.
With that said, ...

The Life and Times of the Thunderbolt Kid: A Memoir 51 reviews Bill Bryson
Broadway, 2007
Billy Remembers When... It is a constant theme in Bill Bryson's books - he always points out what is (or in this case, was) good and enjoyable about his life's experiences. His exaggerations are done for comedic effect, but also to illustrate a point. I always leave the confines of his pages feeling like I have been transported to a different place or different time. Have we become so consumed with what we have, what ...

Chicka Chicka Boom Boom 180 reviews Bill Martin Jr., John Archambault
Aladdin, 2000
Little boys love Chicka Chicka Boom Boom This is a regular addition to our bedtime reading collection for our two sons (ages 5 and 4). The book is colorful, fast and fun to read.
Both of my kids already know their ABCs but that doesn't prevent them from enjoying this book and giggling like mad as they read these lines:
"Skit skat skoodle doot. Flip flop flee..."
"mamas and papas and uncles and aunts..."

True North: Discover Your Authentic Leadership (J-B Warren Bennis Series) 34 reviews Bill George

True North One of the greatest books ever written on Leadership. Not just in leading others but a true book on how to lead yourself. If you cannot lead you, no one will follow you. Harrington on Cash Games, Volume II: How to Play No-Limit Hold 'em Cash Games 11 reviews Dan Harrington, Bill Robertie
Two Plus Two Publishing LLC, 2008
A pleasure to read In my opinion the turn and River are the most difficult and misplayed parts in No-Limit Poker. This is why I got this book, to improve these areas of my game.
The things I love about this book are the hand examples and analysis. After playing no-limit Texas for a couple of years I have often either gone bust or not maximised my winnings on these streets because I'd reach a situation where I ...

I have SOOO much more energy I am amazed. I didn't know that after having a child, I could have so much energy. I have dropped about 10 lbs. in 4 weeks through both the Eating for Life and Body for Life Women's. I feel great. ...

The Five People You Meet in Heaven 1596 reviews Mitch Albom
Hyperion, 2003
A Fan for Life This is the mainstream style readers love to read and writers love to achieve. No critique needed. I'll just say I'll buy every single book this author writes from now on. Mr. Albom never disappoints.
The Five People You Meet in Heaven is genius. Jealousy and professional criticism aside, the readers needs to decide for themselves.
I did, and I loved it.
