C++ GUI Programming with Qt 414 reviews
Jasmin Blanchette, Mark Summerfield

Prentice Hall PTR, 2006

Excellent Book
This book is well written and covers everything needed to get up and running. I bought the book and used it to learn Qt for my CS masters research. I went through it cover to cover, and was programming professional quality, rock solid, GUIs in a month and a half. Using just the Trolltech supplied on-line documentation, that would have been impossible.

Qt Programming for LINUX and Windows 2000 (Hewlett-Packard Professional Books)17 reviews
Patrick Ward

Prentice Hall PTR, 2000

Good stuff
I'm new to Qt but I have played with it before I bought this book. At first I thought the book was trying to be a Qt reference manual until I got to the part where Ward explains what it's for: A different organization of way too much Qt information. It does that OK. What I really like is that the examples applied to what I'm trying to get done. When does the new book come out? Cover QFtp!

Foundations of Qt® Development (Expert's Voice in Open Source)1 review
Johan Thelin

Apress, 2007

Good read - author knows the topic well
Qt is an interesting framework to work within, and is a fantastic answer to cross-platform nightmares that I've experienced. Instead of designing and/or reprogramming for each new platform (such as writing native software that you already have in Windows in C++ for Mac in Objective-C), Qt allows you to essentially program it once and then port to additional platforms. The author understands ...

C++ GUI Programming with Qt 4 (2nd Edition) (Prentice Hall Open Source Software Development Series)5 reviews
Jasmin Blanchette, Mark Summerfield

Prentice Hall PTR, 2008

A 'must' reference for serious, advanced programmers and computer libraries.
The fact that this is the ONLY official best-practice guide to QT 4 programming makes it a 'must have' for any college-level or specialty computer library serious about catering to C++ programmers. QT4 enables developers to build stronger C++ applications that run on systems from Linux to Windows without source code changes, and this revised, expanded documentary includes the latest, proven ...

C++ GUI Programming with Qt 3 (Bruce Perens' Open Source Series)12 reviews
Jasmin Blanchette, Mark Summerfield

Prentice Hall PTR, 2004

An extraordinarily efficient introduction to Qt
I was given a few weeks to port several applications from other windowing systems to Qt. I had never used Qt before. This book, along with the Qt Assistant online documentation, were all I needed. I was astonished at how relevant almost every page of this book was to my tasks. The examples of displaying data in a table, employing double-buffered graphics, parsing and creating XML, adding ...

An Introduction to Design Patterns in C++ with Qt 4 (Bruce Perens' Open Source Series)8 reviews
Alan Ezust, Paul Ezust

Prentice Hall PTR, 2006

A Marvellous Book for Programming in the QT Way
I don't major in CS but I have to use C++ and QT for my PhD research. Although I had pretty good general understanding of IT and some experience in web programming, I struggled to teach myself C++ from scratch. I tried a few popular books, but none of them worked very well. As someone said, "the trouble with C++ is there's an awful lot to remember". Those big thick books are often quite easy to ...

The Book of Qt 4: The Art of Building Qt Applications4 reviews
Daniel Molkentin

No Starch Press, 2007

Best book on QT 4
I recently had to translate a C++ application from the now defunct Borland C++ class libraries to QT4, so I had some on-the-job training with QT and was very impressed by the elegance and depth of Trolltech's design. But I needed a general book to round out my knowledge, and this book filled the gaps well. It's well-written and clear. Also hats off to NoStarch press. It's a beautifully ...

Acquired Long QT Syndrome
A. John Camm, Marek Malik, ...

Wiley-Blackwell, 2004

In recent years there has been considerable interest in the diagnosis and understanding of ventricular repolarisation, particularly the QT interval prolongation and abnormal T and T/U wave morphology associated with torsades de pointes. Advances in ion channel cloning have greatly improved our understanding of the role of ionic channels in mediating cardiac repolarisation. Unfortunately, it is increasingly recognised that a number of drugs, both ...

Kara Mia: The Story of Sudden Loss & Slow Recovery in a Teenager with Long QT Syndrome4 reviews
Maryann Anglim, Walter Allan

Seahorse Pr, 1997

helpful as a teaching tool
I have given this book to many people who are going through a health crisis. It speaks universally to the families of loved ones who are going through any sort of chronic illness. If you happen to be a family afflicted by Long QT syndrome, it makes the scientific knowledge of this genetic heart condition easily understood. I have also given this book to my children's teachers and the parents of ...

Programming with QT: Writing Portable GUI Applicat11 reviews
Matthias Kalle Dalheimer

O'Reilly, 1999

Easy C++ GUIs with qt
Easy reading introduction into GUI programming with qt in C++. The book focuses on qt without applying C++ exception handling or the standard template library. It also does not explain too deeply the workings behind qt's callback system, but just, how to use it. After reading the book I could immediately make a GUI on Linux. Earlier it took me much longer to do the same thing with Motif. The ...

L'intervalle QT
Jean Ginestes

Springer, 2003

Clinical Approaches to Tachyarrhythmias, The Long QT Syndrome (Clinical Approaches To Tachyarrhythmias)
Peter Schwartz

Wiley-Blackwell, 1997

The long QT syndrome has become the focus of considerable scientific attention in recent years because of the discovery of several genes responsible for its development. These discoveries have demonstrated the genetic heterogeneity of the syndrome and have given both the clinician and researcher the opportunity to relate phenotypic variants to different genotypes responsible for distinctly different ion channel abnormalities. These analyses ...

Drug-Induced Long QT Syndrome
Yee Guan Yap, A. John Camm

Wiley-Blackwell, 2002

To most cardiologists, the long QT syndrome is a relatively rare congenital and familial syndrome that affects children or young adults. However, in addition to congenital LQTS there is a series of acquired forms of the syndrome, usually resulting from exposure to drugs that extend the duration the QT interval. This prolongation may be the primary pharmacodynamic action of the drug, however a plethora of other drugs, including some types of ...

Excellent for Beginner and Professional
The book contains one of the best Python introductions I've seen so far, which means it's useful even when you don't know Python, yet. After the introduction, you'll love it :) After that come 19 chapters which are packed with useful information in well digestible bits so the reader won't feel overwhelmed. When you're a professional, you won't waste time finding the information you need and ...
