Bicycle Mystery (Boxcar Children) 3 reviews Gertrude Chandler Warner
Albert Whitman & Company, 1990
My Favorite One! I like this book because I love bycicles. It's neat how they go back and see things they saw in other books. And I wish my dog acted like the little dog Shadow, whom the boxcar children found. It was fun finding out whose dog it was! I would deffinantly recommend this book to anyone, and especially to boxcar children fans. READ THIS BOOK!

Schoolhouse Mystery (Boxcar Children) 3 reviews Gertrude Chandler Warner
Albert Whitman & Company, 1990
It's hard to believe, but.... I find myself amazed that I, childhood (and lifelong) fan of the Bobbsey Twins, Encyclopedia Brown, Nancy Drew, Trixie Belden, the Hardy Boys and others... I somehow missed the Boxcar Children until now. Don't let this happen to you!
In Schoolhouse Mystery, Benny is challenged by his friend Max to visit a dull, boring fishing town and find something, anything, in the way of adventure there. ...

So many surprises! When I say "So many surprises," I really mean it! For example, the children find Indian artifacts, when they never thought they would. Benny and his friend found a mini-cave. I like this book because it had so many surprises!

The Boxcar Children (The Boxcar Children, No. 1) (Boxcar Children) 123 reviews Gertrude Chandler Warner
Albert Whitman & Company, 1989
Classic This is one of those books that is without a doubt an absolute classic. Every time I read it I love it more. It has everything a good adventure story should have--runaways, danger, mysteries, living in an abandoned boxcar. And yet none of it is too threatening, which makes it perfect for young readers. Warner's stye is one that is no longer seen, but it's a marvelously understated way of ...

The Woodshed Mystery (Boxcar Children) 6 reviews Gertrude Chandler Warner
Albert Whitman & Company, 1990
One of my all-time favourite Boxcar Children adventures Like "Mike's Mystery", this is a mystery with a solid foundation and never once drags. I first read it when I was about eight and learnt several things I didn't know before. I learned what ammunition meant. It also was my first introduction to any information about the Revolutionary War. The story takes place primarily on a farm in New England that dates back to the 1700's. Grandfather and Aunt ...

Mike's Mystery (Boxcar Children) 5 reviews Gertrude Chandler Warner
Albert Whitman & Company, 1989
Go Mike This, along with The Woodshed Mystery, was my favourite book (not just Boxcar Children, but books in general) for some time. It brings back to life the definite promise of adventure from the third book that slumbered through the fourth, and is one of the most well-laid-out and realistic of the series. At least I've always thought so. :) We met Mike in "Surprise Island", and here he is back again ...
