Extremely helpful
As a graphic design student about to graduate into the real world, I've been at the verge of a nervous breakdown trying to figure out what I'm going to need to do to get a good job. This book gave me so many answers that my design classes didn't provide. Part of Jefferson's book gives information and advice such as how a designer should approach a cover letter, a comprehensive list of websites ...

What a great book.
I haven't even finished reading this book yet and am logging on to tell students, interns, and all people new to the ad biz, buy this book. Buy it even before you buy the one I wrote ("Hey Whipple, Squeeze This. - A Guide To Creating Great Ads"). I'm serious. Well, okay, buy this one first. But then buy TWO copies of "Hey Whipple."

An honest how - to- book that makes sense
I purchased this book with several other titles on the same subject. If I had to pick only one of them this would be the book. Out of the books I've read this is the only one that gives you a solid plan and explains step by step how to make it work. A must read for any artist who is interested in a plan for making a living making and selling their art.

Breaking (into) the Circle offers tested methods for utilizing groups in the English classroom, methods that won't lead to anarchy but will lead to a classroom where ...

Stories that need telling
A friend told me about this book several years ago when I was raft guiding on the Colorado River a little north of the Grand Canyon. I bought the book, and absolutely loved it. As one of the rare breed of female white water rafting guides, it was amazing to read about other women who shared my passion for the river and for the wild places around us. Breaking into the Current is NOT a ...

Great start- here's more
This book is a great start, of course the best way to learn is by throwing yourself in there. Other things I recommend as a working actor in LA: Backstage West- for all the audtion listings "Voice Lessons To Go" by Vaccarino, hey you know we all need to sing as some audition at one time or another-these are great. "The Artist Way" by, Cameron- it has helped me and so many of my friends gain ...

Great refresher or supplement. Portable and self-contained.
I studied Japanese for three semesters ten years ago and have had no opportunity to practice it since. I'm not exactly a blank slate, but I certainly don't remember very much -- maybe 35 kanji (numbers, sun, moon, etc.) and roughly 85% of the kana. With what basic knowledge of Japanese sentence structure, common particles, and a few verb-ending constructions (v~te, v~tari, v~nakareba, v~tai ...

Really great book for actors!
I was so surprised at what a great book this is for actors. It breaks down what to do and how to do it. Most industry book tell actors "Go get an agent" and then B.S. with more empty advise - THEY DO NOT TELL YOU HOW TO GET THE AGENT!!!! This book does! It also tells you how to get the job! This book is more important for actors than any acting class in LA or New York City. THANKS MICHAEL ...

a sporting want-to-be
Having a limited knowledge of scouting, I decided to read this book just to see if I could "cut through" the crap. Without a doubt, this book made it so simple to figure out just what the scouts are looking for when evaluating a player for the major leagues. Thanks Mr. Goldis for your insight!!

If you are a college student majoring in television production, you know that internships are the only key to getting a career in the field. This book will be a vital asset to anyone fighting to secure an internship in the field of broadcasting.
