Wow! Awesome biography
This is a great true story for ages 6-105. A little bit of cowboy language but going to the park is far worse. Action, adventure, joy, hardship, love of family & friends,... it's all there. Very eye opening. I'm so glad audio versions are coming out so we can enjoy them together on long car trips or when sick in bed. Worth the money.

Oh I am speechless. This is a book full of grace, character, This is the writers real life boyhood and apparently thought he could make a good book out of it. Boy was he right! I could read this book about three hundred times and then maybe think about putting it down! This man had such a life as a kid! man you would think it was fictional but when you know its not it makes you well... Speechless!

Wonderfully evocative
I cannot praise Ralph Moody enough. This book is so well structured and well written that it is obviously a "made" work, but that certainly doesn't make it false. It is a truthful story inasmuch as the characters speak as they should, and the times are brought alive as good writing should do.
An emotion-packed experience perfect for taking us back one hundred years. Highly recommended!
