Let's Go Buggy: The Ultimate Family Guide to Insect Zoos and Butterfly Houses3 reviews
Troy Corley

Corley Publications, 2002

What makes the Mexican Jumping Bean Jump?
I remember holding one of those jumping beans in my hand and wondering if I should take one home, because you never could tell what might escape. This book explains how Mexican jumping beans jump and gives you information on bug zoos and butterfly houses. I prefer the butterfly idea, but there are many fascinating insects. After living in Africa, I think I have seen enough bugs to last a ...

What an enthralling story!
The Butterfly House is a book about four women, each strong and weak in their own ways. Following the childhood friendship of two little girls into adulthood, we learn about the journeys each of the quartet must take. The actions of one night dramatically changes their paths, and they must grow in new directions if they hope to survive.

Scholastic Press, 1999

A very warm celebration.
I saw a copy of BUTTERFLY HOUSE and bought it right away because I was attracted to the love and warmth that the book radiates through its story and illustrations on one of my favorite subjects, the butterfly. Butterfly lovers can look for MALINDA MARTHA MEETS MARIPOSA too, different in that it features the Monarch rather than the Painted Lady and different again in that it offers the ...

My, Oh My--A Butterfly!: All About Butterflies (Cat in the Hat's Lrning Libry)3 reviews
Tish Rabe

Random House Books for Young Readers, 2007

My, Oh My, A Butterfly!
I recommend this book and all the others in the series. They are each around 45 pages of fun facts that our grandson, not quite 3 years old, loved. He kept asking for more, and sat through three books in one sitting. He later repeated facts from the books, showing that he was really listening and learning.

Isabel's House of Butterflies (Sierra Club Books (Sierra))1 review
Tony Johnston

Gibbs Smith, Publisher, 2005

A poignant story of difficult real-life choices
The captivating full-page color artwork by Susan Guevara fairly leaps from the pages of Tony Johnston's Isabel's House Of Butterflies, a stunning picture book about a Mexican family with a young daughter, and the tree on their land that is a wintering place for thousands of monarch butterflies that migrate from the north. When they come, the tree becomes La casa de las mariposas - the house of ...

I this Book
This is my favorite Bad day book on earth. to me, it represents the perfect blend of Nonsense and sensibilty, and though it may seem ridiculous, under closer scrutiny, it offers sensitive alternitives to those just a little grumpy with what everyone else is doing.

Deserves Its Awards
No wonder this book won the Independent Publisher Award for Best Horror, and the EPPIE Award in the same category! BUTTERFLY HOUSE is an entertaining read from page one to the finish. Part mystery, part horror--with the occasional quirky joke to break the tension--BUTTERFLY HOUSE is a great novel. This book made me surprised to find out that I like horror novels.

Open House for Butterflies1 review
Ruth Krauss

HarperCollins, 1990

A wonderful classic for all ages
I read this book countless times when I was a little girl, and my daughters enjoy reading my copy now. I spent many fun hours playing games similar to the children depicted in the book. I enjoyed climbing into bed and hanging from the side of the post, calling, "All aboard for bed!" each evening... This book doesn't have one simple "story" in it; it has many small pictures and sayings that ...
