Complete Works : Two : The Caretaker, the Dwarfs, the Collection, the Lover, Night School, Revue Sketches1 review
Harold Pinter

Grove Press, 1994

Revue Sketches
I saw the Revue Sketches animated with the original dialogue on PBS in the late 60's. 'Trouble in the Works', a dialogue between the owner and head foreman in a machine parts factory, was hilarios with a lot of punning on the names of the parts. 'Last to Go' was also a funny and poignant sketch about a minimal conversation between a corner newspaper seller and customer about which London daily ...

The Caretaker37 reviews
Thomas William Simpson

Bantam, 1999

The perfect crime
Since the first page till the end, this book has the perfect crime, "More know the devil for old than for devil", is the first book that I read that since the beginning is telling you part of the finish, that keeps you interested in the story all the time, and as I like from many writers, T.W. Simpson doesn't put Sam like a woman that doesn't know what to do and how to handle any particular ...

The Caretaker and the Dumb Waiter (Pinter, Harold)2 reviews
Harold Pinter

Grove Press, 1994

The Caretaker and The Dumb Waiter, 2 wonderful reads!
Both of these works are wonderful in the sense of making the reader think. Not only are you thrust head first into the plays, but your perception is what makes the endings. Pinter's stlye, form and intellect deliver in both of the works and are challenging without being difficult. Both works have character that people can relate to, wonderful dialogue, and mental involovement. I highly ...

Critics Not Caretakers: Redescribing the Public Study of Religion (Suny Series, Issues in the Study of ...
Russell T. McCutcheon

State University of New York Press, 2001

A lively critique of the study of religion in the modern academy, one that makes the scholar of religion a cultural critic rather than a caretaker of a religious tradition or a guru dispensing timeless wisdom.

Whirlwind: The Caretaker Trilogy: Book 2 (Caretaker Trilogy)1 review
David Klass

Farrar, Straus and Giroux (BYR), 2008

Rough, wild, tense - but not as stirring as hoped for
Continuing in the manner of the triologie's first part, Klass shoves his main character into nearly nonstop action. But whereas there were new things to discover in the first book (new senses, new abilities, the glimpse at a future world), the second one seems to stick to running and being hunted for most of the time, which is definitely a weakness. It fails to arouse a gripping deepness, the ...

On 30 May 1960, the play was presented by Michael Codron and David Hall at the Duchess Theatre, London, with the following cast: Mick, a man in his late twenties: Alan Bates Aston, a man in his early thirties: Peter Woodthorpe Davies, an ...

Caretakers of Our Common House1 review
Carol Lakey Hess

Abingdon Press, 1997

Ways Churches can empower women and girls
The author provides a provocative description of ways society's institutions have colluded to undermine the full development of women and girls. Relies on Gilligan and Kegan's theories of development; critiques Neibuhr's theology of sacrifice. Weaves biblical stories of women and personal stories into the data and suggests ways that parents, families -- and communities of faith can create ...

Caretaker (Star Trek Voyager, No 1)19 reviews
L.A. Graf, Michael Piller, ...

Star Trek, 1995

Great novelization
This novelization of the first episode of Voyager is really well done. It's not just a rehash of the episode, rather, it's a story that can stand on its own. It's nice hearing what characters are thinking, and it's very descriptive. The photos in the middle were a nice touch. I really enjoyed all the interweaving storylines and the introduction of all the characters. Excellent!

The Caretaker's Daughter5 reviews
Gabrielle Goldsby

Regal Crest Enterprises, LLC, 2003

Most beautiful love story
This book became one of my favorite books almost from the very first page. Beautifully written, this book takes you into a different time, different place. Both women are strong and brave. They started as mistress/worker which soon turned into friendship which lead into romance. You can almost feel what they feel. Wonderful book and very easy read.

The Case of the Caretaker's Cat3 reviews
Erle Stanley Gardner

Amereon Ltd, 1977

It's Perry Mason's Life!
Very well plotted mystery entangled with discord among heirs, missing property, suspicious death of the millionaire, two murders and the caretaker's cat. Mason often uses unconventional tricks to make a cat's-paw of authorities, and the trick he uses in this book is extremely superb. Della and Drake try to stop Mason from skating on thin ice. Mason retorts "What a hell can a man lose? He only ...

Amy Archer-Gilligan: Entrepreneur, Caretaker, Serial Killer1 review
M. William Phelps

Amazon, 2006

I nearly bruised my jaw...
...when I realized that not a single person reviewed this amazing William Phelps Short. As soon as I got over that, I had to rush and pen my official Review. Two dichotomous elements in Mr. Phelps exhaustive work which need pointing out before I launch headlong into my whole "ADM Review Routine." 1) Amy Archer-Gilligan was probably the first-ever "Black Widow" (a woman who murders her ...

Comfort For Those Who Care For Others
This book was a gift to me about ten years ago. It has brought a calming feeling to me when I would come home from work. I have given this book to my staff and other managers where I work. You see I work in an assisted living facility. I am one of the staff that the residents come to when they are frustrated, confused, worried or in need of a sounding board, for comfort, or just a friend. I ...
