Great book. One of those that hooks you from the beginning and then you don't want to put it down. Par for the course for the great James Patterson & Michael Ledwidge. Great collaboration once again.

The best case interview prep book on the market
Marc Cosentino's book should be the foundation of anyone's preparation for consulting interviews. I recently signed with the most prestigious management consulting firm in the industry after 10 case interviews, and this book has been the key to my success. I'm graduating from a top 20 b-school in May 2010, but it's not a core consulting school, so I did all my preparation on my own. Case in ...

Brilliant and erudite, Karen Armstrong makes a case for God!
The Case for God Well researched and eloquently stated, Armstrong's "A Case for God" is a must-read for doubters and believers alike. It is carefully researched, and as with everything she writes, it is intelligent and thoughtFul and raises timely issues. This is not an easy read, but is well worth the effort. Armstrong links opposing points of religious views with historical and societal events ...

Holy Christ, I didn't know that
Believers, skeptics, whatever . . . read this seriously, at least 6 times . . . and you will understand exactly who, what and why Christ came to us. I am a serious student of Christianity and this author brought things to light about Christ that I had suspected, but wasn't sure. Totally absorbing. Most highly recommended.

The Case for Settling for Mrs. Good Enough
Lori Gottlieb is a "lighting rod" in some circles - probably because the title of her book hits "hot buttons". The anecdotes and stories in her book were entertaining and often similar to our own experiences. Gottlieb's book kept my interest. I read it from the standpoint of a guy questioning his own choices in the past. Don't let the title fool you - she is not advocating "marry who you ...

Great for law students (and practicing lawyers, too)
This book was recommended to me by my undergraduate moot court coach, and it was very helpful for both oral argument and brief-writing competitions. The book is written for practicing attorneys, and gives detailed hints and guidelines for what to do and what not to do when arguing before a judge whether in oral or written form. Some of the advice seems obvious, but other points are nuanced and ...

Awesome, almost comprehensive
I bought the PDA version of this book (I'm so grateful to fit it into my pocket, along with my other 5 pda texts). This book is amazing, it not only engages the learner in active critical thinking(as opposed to passive reading), it gives a very thorough presentation of each of the 60 topics it covers, with pearls and fine points to differentiate the subtle aspects of history, presentation, etc. ...

Good review for the beginning of clinical rotation
I purchased this book because one of the authors is the director of the family medicine clerkship at my medical school. The book is a great introduction to family medicine and the most common patient cases you will see in the clinic. The book focuses more on clinical diagnosis and disease management than it does on pathophysiology, so if you want disease process details, you will need to ...

Kate Atkinson
, 2005
Brilliant writer, character driven mystery novel
My mom highly recommended Kate Atkinson and her opinion was backed up by Stephen King in an issue of Entertainment Weekly this year so I had to check it out. I was not looking forward to it because the cover of my library book version is so terribly bland (and 1970s looking) and the title is not exciting (I know, judging, books, covers, etc...What a cliche!) But judging by the fact that I stayed ...

If Only They Had Known
If Darwin was right then we would be just sophisticated monkeys, there would be no right or wrong, just 'make-em-up' ethics and there would be no God. This was the assessment of one local of Kanawha County in West Virginia as journalist Lee Strobel arrived to capture the story of Anti-Darwinian protests in 1974. Strobel at the time was a self-confessed atheist, believing that much of what the ...

I am reading for my MBA at PIM , University of Sri Jayawardanepura , Sri Lanka. As partial fulfilment of the MBA we are required to embark on a case study reaserch on a given Brand. I found this book to be extremely helpful in that there was no other book that provided a structured approach to doing a case study. I recommend this book to anyone who embarks on a case study research.

A Tour de Force (a review of the audiobook)
10 hours 9 discs Read by the author, Lee Strobel Lee Strobel has written seveal "The Case for..." books. This one explicitly counters the arguments from many different sources that question Jesus, the teachings about him and the integrity of the New Testament. Critics argue that Strobel is not an expert on the things he writes about. I believe he would agree with that - at most he is a ...
