I love the book too
I refer to the book many times when I watch Columbo episodes I've taped over the years. I think it's a great book, but like others, I think it should either be updated, or a sequel book, possibly titled "The Columbo Phile - Just One More Thing" that just covers the newer cases and updates the statistics (such as how many times William Shatner has been a murderer on Columbo, which used to be 1 ...

EXCELLENT, MAGNIFICENT
I was preparing for my Board exams and was looking for a simple and easy to understand book in Neurology. During my search I came acroos this book by Dr. Walshe. Dr. Walshe was my mentor while in training. He was an excellent teacher. I got this book and find it very informative and simple and easy. I thought I was good in anatomy allthough brain anatomy was allways my weakness. This book made my ...

Wow, what a little reference book should be!
... ... which brings me to the subject of the Cunninghams' book. little (236pp) book is really excellent. If you're trying to get a handle on partnership tax law, this is best book you can find. (I ended up reading it because I was in a graduate tax class at Golden Gate University and other students--CPAs and attorneys--kept saying, 'hey, get this book to get the big picture......') I will issue ...

great all around review of fetal and pediatric ultrasound
I thouroghly enjoyed this review series, especially as I was preparing for oral boards. Full range of fetal and pediatric U/S topics are covered in concise yet thought provoking manner. Cases are presented as unknown just as on would expect in actual clinical practice, followed by description of the findings, most likely diagnosis, discussion of the entity and companion cases. Image quality is ...

An important piece of the continuum of learning to work with trauma
In this text, Rothschild offers a beautiful piece of writing that nicely complements her earlier work, "The Body Remembers." I have found in my journey of learning to understand and work with trauma that I have had a lot of exposure to articles and textbooks, and complementary direct experience with clients to learn from. The Casebook occupies a liminal-like space in between the learning ...

Complete and fun reference book
This is such a fun book! Lots of rare photos of all cast members. I really enjoyed the stories and anecdotes from all the personal interviews with the different cast members. This book obviously took lots of time and effort to compile. I was won over in the first few pages where proper hommage is paid to the Angels' predecessors in female crime-fighting : Anne Francis as Honey West and Diana Rigg ...

Awesome humorous book!!
"Spy vs. Spy: The Complete Casebook" collects the complete run of the late Antonio Prohias' comic strip from 1961-1987, published by MAD Magazine. The title characters are two equally sinister agents--one dressed in black, the other in white--who constantly war against each other with many a different scheme. On occasion, the Spies are joined by the Gray Spy--a female operative who always ...

That's my mom!
I am of course partial. You see, Dixie is my mother. While the stories in this book may seem far fetched and even somewhat unbelieveable, I am a testiment that life was unique in my youth. She writes from the heart, and continues to this day to be a pillar of wisdom, enriching the lives of those she touches. While this book is well into it's third decade of circulation, its contemporary style ...

Great sidekick
This book is a good addition to whatever partnership book that you're using. For me, most tax books are hard to understand and I try to buy books that simplify it for me, then I dive into the deep stuff. This is by no means a comprehensive book. I frequently read this book, reference the Partnership in a Nutshell book for more clarification, and then reference the Code/Regs. By the time I do ...

One of the best psych texts ever!!
As a college student, I appreciated the quality of the material contained in this book and the clarity of it. No sitting with a dictionary to try and read a textbook. The layout of the book was wonderful as well as the descriptive manner it was written in, the pictures that accentuated the points delivered by the text. All around, an awesome text!

More impossible fun
Why stop at 12, when we can have 15 more impossible crimes? From this book, comes fifteen more and fifteen of the best impossible crimes. 13. A Must Read
I highly recommend Professor Volokh's new book, Academic Legal Writing: Law Review Articles, Student Notes, and Seminar Papers. As the title suggests, it focuses primarily on legal writing, especially for aspiring and current law school students. However, anyone who wants to improve his/her writing and critical thinking skills should read this book. The book--which is only 189 pages--abounds in ...

Charming tales of the North Woods of Minnesota
I got this book because I too come from Minnesota and work in health care, but once started on Dr. MacDonald's A Country Doctor's Casebook Tales from the North Woods, I was hooked. The author was what we would now refer to as a family practitioner who worked in a small rural community near Duluth from 1947 to 1980. His charming collection of stories is a delight to read, and I literally read ...

Excellent book for shelf exam and surgery rotation.
I just finished my surgery rotation and took the shelf exam. I have to say that reading this book really prepared me for the shelf and also for the whole surgery rotation. I highly recommend this book. You may also want to have a question book such as pre-test surgery to do some practice questions. Good luck in surgery.

A great study guide
This book covers the major subdivisions of internal medicine by providing approximately 10 cases per subject. First, it presents the case, then there are several questions afterward that get you to start sorting through the facts of the case in your head. The next section will go over each of those previous questions with great explanations and discussions. This book has the best discussions ...

Not 'Hatchet'
Since a George Orwell reference is obviously required here, I read 'Animal Farm' directly before Lord of the Flies. And I was foolish enough to think that Animal farm is a great book! It can hardly stand on all four legs when measuring up to Lord of the Flies. Just as 'Animal Farm' is a parody of the Russian Revolution, 'Lord of the Flies' is more of a parable for mankind than an inspiration for ...
