Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince (Book 6) 3590 reviews J.K. Rowling, Jim Dale
Listening Library (Audio), 2005
Snape steps into the spotlight. Finally, a book devoted to everyone's favorite bad guy.
Severus does not disappoint in this book.
Another knock out punch from J.K., The Half Blood Prince, has everything we've come to love about the Potter books.
An amazing story, action, and drama to the extreme, "Prince" doesn't let go until the last page.
Yet another brilliant page turner from Rowling and one of the finest in the series.

Sail 24 reviews James Patterson, Howard Roughan
Hachette Audio, 2008
Give me more I have to say this book was amazing. In another review I read they stated it was unreal, unbelieveable, but it is a fiction novel, it's not supposed to be real? One night I was up until 4 a.m. reading this book, and another 5 a.m. I finally decided i need to go to sleep! It's that intruiging, it's just that good. I love all three James Patterson books I've read: 3rd Degree, Judge and Jury, and now ...

When You Are Engulfed in Flames 61 reviews
Hachette Audio, 2008
After the new age weekend it was time for something different... I had just gotten back from a weekend spent in hippie-town, doing the massage thing. I picked up this book and was relieved that something so wrong could be so right. I spent the next few days picking the book up when I could.
David Sedaris can have the "dark humor" moments, but there are also quite a few times where I'm really struck by his kind side.

A Masterpiece Eckhart Tolle has certainly written a 'masterpiece' with this consciousness expanding book 'The Power of Now.'
Potent insights are plentiful along with thought provoking revelations on focused intent, inner peace, acceptance, & true joy, by means of moving beyond 'ego' into enlightened consciousness.
Echart Tolle explains that in essence living in ego consciousness results in selective ...

Pronounce It Perfectly in English with Audio CDs (Pronounce It Perfectly) 7 reviews Jean Yates
Barron''s Educational Series, 2005
Amazing! This book is by far the better book to improve your pronunciation. After years trying all kinds of books, schools of English (for foreigners, of course), English teachers and a myriad of "teach yourself" methods, I finally found one that goes to the point. It teachs you in the easiest way, so clear and nice. It has draws of the mouth in order to show you the movement to make a perfect sound and ...

Little Gorilla 21 reviews Ruth Lercher Bornstein
Clarion Books, 1986
Everybody loved him I bought Little Gorilla on a whim because my son loves gorillas and at the time it was the cheapest board book on the shelf. I had no idea that it would soon become one of his favorite books as well as one that he would soon commit to memory.
Little Gorilla is a delightful tale of a young gorilla who is loved by "just about everyone in the great green forest". When he suddenly begins to grow ...

Big Russ and Me 97 reviews Timothy J. Russert
Miramax, 2006
A blueprint for fatherhood This book should be required reading for all young men who eventually will become fathers. It's filled with wisdom and real-life examples of how to set the stage for success in raising a child.
It reads like a novel but in the end it's like an invauable user's manual for fatherhood.
I highly recommend it.

What Happened: Inside The Bush White House and Washington's Culture of Deception 84 reviews Scott Mcclellan
Blackstone Audiobooks, Inc., 2008
Clearly a man with a conscious This is not the first man who came out of the Bush administration criticizing it and also writing a book about it. He explains how the war in Iraq was not necessary and in doing so makes us realize that Bush and his counterparts are responsible for many needless deaths and injuries over there. Unfortunately, we can see this country headed for another Vietnam which is making us the laughing ...

Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets (Book 2) 2652 reviews J.K. Rowling
Listening Library, 1999
J.K. Rowling delivers another stellar Potter adventure. Who knew if the first Potter book would end up being just a blip on the literary map?
The Chamber of Secrets was a make or break book.
If this book had not done well, the Potter Empire never would have been.
Too bad for all the naysayer's out there, the second book was even more brilliant than the first.
A crucial book for the series and Rowling absolutely destroyed everyone's expectations.

Five good books in a row. I remember when this book was about to come out, the hype, the media, the LONG lines.
If you weren't smart enough to preorder this book you were out of luck.
Harry Potter was all over the news and the media was in a complete frenzy.
The book is just as long as all the others and just as brilliant.
Without giving away any of the story line, more drama, more action, another blazing story line ...

Pearl (Classics on Cassette) 493 reviews John Steinbeck
Highbridge Audio, 1994
Relevant to Events of Our Time The world portrayed in THE PEARL is that of the helpless, exploited, and disinherited. It portrays the lives of people being forced to live closer to nature than most of us care to, of people who somehow don't fit into the social structure, of people who do not understand the boundaries and rules of governments and nations, and of people forced to be on the run.
Steinbeck paints a beautiful ...

Please don't summarize! I loved this book and read it in two days and began the next immediately. One thing that troubles me -- about many amazon reviews -- is that they are NOT reviews. Person after person summarizes the story (which is, basically, summarized in the official editorial paragraph. WHY OH WHY does everyone do this! WHy not just say what you liked/disliked and why?
