Mary Pope Osborne

Random House Books for Young Readers, 2001

A Magical Christmas Story
A wonderful adventure and an enchanting tale for the Christmas season, although this story can certainly be enjoyed at any time of the year. Once again, Mary Pope Osborne has done her own magic with book # 29 in her Magic Tree House series. How exciting for a child to travel to Camelot with Jack and Annie on their quest. The story is fun, scary, thrilling, and upbeat. It certainly held my ...

Richard J. Foster

a MUST-READ for every believer
This book is simply amazing. Foster does such a great job putting the disciplines into words that are applicable in our daily lives and easy to understand and apply. I am doing it for a Bible study, which has been great for weekly readings. I love it more and more each week. I recommend it to everyone looking to challange their walk and grow spiritually. So good!

Thanksgiving on Thursday (Magic Tree House #27)14 reviews
Mary Pope Osborne

Random House Books for Young Readers, 2002

MY BOY LOVES READING IT
My 1st grader hates to put it down, he would rather read Magic Tree House books, than play video games. He even reads them to his class and explains the story for show and tell. In his kindergarten class the teacher would also let him read the Magic Tree House books out loud, not to give her a break, but to promote reading out loud. Great books!

Daddy Hugs (Classic Board Books)6 reviews

Little Simon, 2007

A darling book for dads and babies
My husband and I both love reading this sweet book to our 6-month-old son. It shows different ways a dad shows his love for a baby of indeterminate gender ("finger hugs," "make it better" hugs, etc.) As with all Karen Katz's books, the illustrations are darling. (The baby and the kitty are especially cute!) It's also very colorful and seems to really hold our son's attention.

Dark Celebration: A Carpathian Reunion (The Carpathians (Dark) Series, Book 14)128 reviews
Christine Feehan

Jove, 2007

Enjoyable
I enjoyed this novel. For the first time you see the characters letting their hair down and having fun doing human things and not so human things. It was also the great read Feehan fans have come to love. I like that she managed to share a bit of all the characters without rushing the story line. It flows and i am sure you will enjoy it as well. Write on, read on N.M. Phillips

Counting Kisses: A Kiss & Read Book112 reviews

Little Simon, 2003

Counting Kisses. Read it, do it, love it! Priceless!
Even at five years old, my son loves it when we read Count Kisses. We read each page then count the kisses. We just fall into giggling, tickling, kissing fun. Daddy will even join in the fun. It's those moments as a Mom you will just treasure in your heart forever. This book is just precious. Would make a GREAT baby shower gift. Who wouldn't enjoy sneaking in kisses on their baby's toes, ...

Eve Bunting

Clarion Books, 1993

The perfect book for the perfect day.
I gave this book to my father for father's day. It tells the charming story of a young girl and the relationship she has with her father. She wants to spend Father's Day with her Dad doing all the things he loves. Instead they do the things she loves to do and like every good Dad he goes along and pretends they are his favorite things too. It seems like he's thinking, "without her I wouldn't ...

Wendy Masse's Jeremy Fink and the meaning of life is a true master piece. I suggest that for anyone from the ages 10 to 15 and people that like fiction should read this book. Note by Note: A Celebration of the Piano Lesson6 reviews
Tricia Tunstall

Simon & Schuster, 2008

From a fellow piano teacher
It wasn't long into Tricia Tunstall's new book, "Note by Note", that I found myself nodding again and again in agreement regarding her experiences as a piano teacher, vis-a-vis mine. We are almost exactly the same age, have taught piano for years and came from similar piano backgrounds...that is, classical music only and nothing EVER popular. So it was with good fortune that I could readily ...

Southern Cakes: Sweet and Irresistible Recipes for Everyday Celebrations13 reviews
Nancie McDermott

Chronicle Books, 2007

Happy Cake Baker
I've finally found the cake recipe book that I've been searching for years for. I especially like the yellow cake recipe - with chocolate icing reminds me of my childhood birthday cakes from scratch. I was always intimated by scratch cakes. Now I feel like a bonafide cake baker with this book. I haven't used a boxed cake mix since I got this book. The cakes are so moist and delicious - you ...

Simple Stunning Weddings: Designing and Creating Your Perfect Celebration10 reviews
Karen Bussen

Stewart, Tabori and Chang, 2004

My Wedding Planning Bible
I used this book to plan my wedding that happened in May '07, which was done without a wedding planner. My wedding was held in a historic, beautiful synagogue and historic beautiful hotel (similar to the country club chapter). So many of our guests have commented directly to us or my parents about how beautiful our wedding was -- and I have to say this book helped me more than any other. ...

Yay, You! : Moving Out, Moving Up, Moving On12 reviews

Little Simon, 2001

Great Graduation Gift!
I have bought multiple copies of this book for my kids' friends for graduation gifts. I also bought it for my aunt when she recieved her doctorate degree. I decorated the inside of the kids' books with pictures throughout their kindergarten and Pre-K years at school. It has the best ending telling the person that no matter what they do in life they are special!
