A Champion's Mind 18 reviews Pete Sampras, Peter Bodo
Random House Audio, 2008
A fan's mind: Lessons learned Pete Sampras' "A Champion's Mind" is indeed a 15th grand slam.
It never ceases to amaze me how generally people that move quiet, are soft spoken and calm are, turn to be the best writers, authors and talkers. Sampras' may have got a bit of help from his editor, but still it is impressive how relaxing and smooth this book can be... pretty much as his tennis was.
It is an interesting read ...

Champion Hill: Decisive Battle for Vicksburg 21 reviews Timothy B. Smith
Savas Beatie, 2006
Maps and more Maps I am what is commonly referred to as a Civil War buff, what ever that means, and I feel compelled to write you about the work of Timothy B. Smith.
My biggest frustration about a lot of books on the civil is the lack of good quality maps that allows the reader to get a sense of who was where and what was happening on the battlefield. How one could write an account of a battle with out good maps ...

Chicken Soup for the Pet Lover's Soul: Stories About Pets as Teachers, Healers, Heroes and Friends (Chicken ... 90 reviews Jack Canfield, Mark Victor Hansen, ...
HCI, 1998
Warm and fuzzy Most of the series of 'Chicken Soup for the Soul' has the kind of warm and fuzzy story that many find endearing and sweet. They are not 'deep' most of the time, but do point to things beyond themselves; for my own use, I often find sermon illustrations and stories within the pages of volumes of Chicken Soup -- as chaplain at a retirement centre, many of the stories help people to recall happier ...

Chess Tactics for Champions: A step-by-step guide to using tactics and combinations the Polgar way (Chess) 27 reviews Susan Polgar, Paul Truong
Random House Puzzles & Games, 2006
A great next level book by Polgar This is another excellent book by Susan Polgar. Her first book is similar to this one, but with the major difference being the difficulty of the chess puzzles. The first book was elementary compared to this one. This book really tested my skills and eyes for the correct move. It basically deals with developing the art of seeing the tactic or creating the winning move with little instruction. ...

Running With Champions: A Midlife Journey on the Iditarod Trail 12 reviews Lisa Frederic
Alaska Northwest Books, 2006
chance encounter On a recent trip to Alaska's Denali National Park, my wife and I were fortunate to have an extremely knowledgeable tour guide who had spent the last 27 years in Alaska, first as a commercial fisherman(or fisherwoman) and now as a dog trainer/fisherman/tour guide. Only in passing, at the end of our delightful 8 hour tour, did she mention that she had completed the Iditarod (at age 42). Seeing ...

Think Like a Champion 13 reviews Mike Shanahan, Adam Schefter
Diane Pub Co, 1997
Building success one victory at a time. I have heard this advice before: If you want to be successful at something, find the most successful person you can in that area, listen to what they say, and try to follow it. Well, its hard to imagine a football coach more sucessful than Mike Shanahan. Here's a guy who started with a dream: to be a head football coach, started as an unpaid volunteer for a college team, and worked his way to be ...

Stop Being Labeled "The Promotions Guy/Gal"! If you are tired of the label, "promotions guy or gal", then this book is for you because it expands on the true definition and role of a marketer. Many companies like to put marketing in the advertising, promotions, communications box, and this is where most marketing professionals reside in the organization. However, this is a recipe for marginalization.

Great Book!! This is one of my favorite books to read to my son (almost 3 yrs. old). I love how the author reminds us to be thankful for the things that are easy to overlook, like the power of the mind or the look of an autumn day. It's helped everyone in our house to stop and be thankful for even the little things in our lives.
