Cinder-Eyed Cat 14 reviews Eric Rohmann
Topeka Bindery, 2001
A Beautifully Illustrated Picture Book Eric Rohmann's imagination is a place I'd like to live in. His imagery is stunning in The Cinder-Eyed Cats. He has created a book that you will pick up again and again, if only to flip through the beautiful images. It will become a well-loved part of your library. This book is a small boy's dreamlike journey to an island inhabited by the cats. He flies there in a boat and falls asleep. That's ...

Joe Cinders 4 reviews Marianne Mitchell
Henry Holt and Co. (BYR), 2002
Yahoo! This is a great retelling of the classic Cinderella story. It has some really funny cowboy type humor, yet keeps that fairy tale feel throughout. The pictures are filled with many little details that I missed the first time through. This is one book you'll want to read again and again.

Cinders of Shady Shores : A Collection of Poems 2 reviews Lisa Arnold Dauscher
PublishAmerica, 2004
A Gift of Classical Poetry from a very Modern Poet Lisa Arnold-Dauscher has fearlessly bared her soul for us to see in her poetry of "Cinders of Shady Shores." Dauscher has a divine gift of imagery to her words. She has an air of classical to her that is reminiscent of Plath and Dickinson but lacking of their melancholy. Dauscher's gift to the reader is to take you inside her heart, to express to you exactly how she is feeling, without mincing ...

Cinder Rabbit 2 reviews Lynn E. Hazen
Henry Holt and Co. (BYR), 2008
Humor and Heart Poor Zoe! Destined for stardom, the lead in her school play, she's forgotten how to hop. And with the Bunny Hop finale of that performance on her mind, she sets out to re-learn how.
New readers will chuckle at every page turn in this well-paced early reader from Lynn Hazen, with delightful illustrations by Elyse Pastel. Hazen uses clever puns (Grand Rabbits School!) and new twists on old tales ...

Cinder Edna 21 reviews Ellen Jackson
Topeka Bindery, 1999
Attitude, it's all attitude! This is the story of two neighbors, both overworked sisters to mean, wicked, old step-sisters. Cinderella is the pretty one who sits in the cinders and daydreams after she finishes her chores. Next door Cinder Edna, the spunky one but not so pretty, sings while she works. She doesn't like sitting in cinders--gets her clothes sooty--so she takes on extra chores from the neighbors who pay her, ...

Cinders 1 review Katherine Gibson
E.M. Hale, 1968
More should know this story This story is very dear to me. I discovered my copy of it when I was in elementary school. It was very old (about fifty years) so I thought I would be mysterious. It was. It is a very sweet tale about Cinders, Cinderella's coachman whom the fairy godmother forgot to turn back into a mouse. The sweet librarian who worked at my school noticed how much I loved it, and since no one had checked it out ...

Prince Cinders 4 reviews Jack Prelutsky
Topeka Bindery, 1999
Very good way of teaching youngsters about dinosaurs. I read this book for the simple reason of having an interest in dinosaurs. I had never seen dinosaur poetry before and was quite amazed at how the author wrote at a child's level to know more about dinosaurs. I think that if a child has interest in dinosaurs, this book is a fun way to go about learning. It not only teaches them about dinosaurs and the way they lived, what they ate, etc., but ...

Cinder Block Gardens 8 reviews Lynn A. Gillespie
Tlc Pub, 2000
Cinder block raised garden beds.. cheaper than plastic wood beds I just recieved the book today. It really is great. I was thinking of buying one of those plastic board raised bed kits but those are really expensive. With Lynn's way I can make more units with cinder blocks than I could with just a plastic raised bed.The soil mixture on one part, sand, peat moss, compost is a perfect blend. I am going to take her advice and have the bulk sand and compost ...

Prince Cinders 14 reviews Babette Cole
Putnam Juvenile, 1997
Brothers can be mean and wicked, too! There are two views I could use in reviewing "Prince Cinders," a modern version of Cinderella. The reader shall choose.
View 1: The politically correct version of gender role reversal. Instead of a girl treated wickedly, the role is inhabited by a boy, or young man, who is made to clean up after his three older brothers. When he wants to go to the dance, his fairy, a young woman who doesn't ...

St. Martin's Press, 1965
Holden Caulfield in New Zealand? Among the Cinders is the story of a boy who, after the death of his best friend tries to come to terms with both his past and his present. The story is set in Te Ika, a little town in rural New Zealand during the 1960's. Souls to Cinders 1 review Jeffrey A. Stadt
Lulu.com, 2005
Jeff Stadt is a Master of the Psychotic Jeff Stadt is a Master of the psychotic. In Souls to Cinders he draws you into the mind of the Characters, all be its a twisted mind in which there are alternate realities, and takes you on a journey that you won't easily forget. Some of the best character development I've seen. For fans of dark and twisted fantasy it's a must read.

The Beautiful Machine: A Life in Cycling, from Tour de France to Cinder Hill 1 review Graeme Fife
Mainstream Publishing, 2009
an exceedingly odd book Fife set out to write a book discussing his lifelong love of bicycles, but the result reads as though it were an autobiography in which the chapters not involving bikes were simply cut out. A girlfriend with whom he rode gets a chapter. The woman to whom he was married from 1980 to 1987 is mentioned only twice; apparently she didn't ride. The daughter they had together is discussed in the context ...

Cinder-Elly (Braille Special Collection) 4 reviews Frances Minters
Braille Institute Press, 2001
My five year old daughter loves this book!! My five year old daughter has asked us to read this book to her every day for the last 3 days. It's a great modern version of the old classic with a more with-it cinderella and Prince Charming, done in rhyming verses. The characters are multi-cultural too. My favorite thing about this book as a parent is that it is fun to read out loud, so I don't mind reading it numerous times.
