I took Professor Cantarino's class in college & we used his book, Civilizacion y Cultura, as our textbook. The class itself was terrific and the textbook was excellent. It is the BEST book available if you are interested in Spain's history, art, architecture, and music over the last 2000 years. I still have the book.END

Usamos este libro para nuestra clase de la historia de Latinoamerica y yo crei que era un poco seco. Esta llena de detalles pero a veces es dificil a leer. Si Ud. necesita un libro para detalles como un ensayo, este es un buen libro. Pero este libro es aburrido.

Es un libro bastante bueno de investigación sobre un tema tan interesante como la Atlántida. No es nada fantástico ni exagerado y se ciñe estrictamente a los hechos, la mayoría comprobados in-situ por el autor. No defraudará. Lo único malo que le veo al libro es su título que parece de una película mala de serie B.

Great Overview of Spanish History
I got this book to A. practice my Spanish and B. learn a bit about Spanish history, and I definitely got both (and then some) with this text. It's definitely meant for students - at the end of sections there are comprehension and discussion questions and a list of sources to check out. I'd say it's for the intermediate/advanced student, someone who has studied Spanish for at least a few years.
