Letters to Anna: The Civil War Through the Eyes and the Heart of a Soldier1 review
James, R. Knight

Cold Tree Press, 2007

Thoroughly enjoyed this work
The interaction via letters between a Confederate officer, in a Union prison camp, and his wife and family uniquely describe the highs and lows of their separation during the Civil War. In addition to the letters, the background and supporting information supplied by the author makes this book flow well and maintains the reader's interest and attention throughout the presentation in this book. ...

Cast a Cold Eye1 review
Mary McCarthy

Plume, 1972

Metonymy, the part is taken for the whole
Well, would someone leave her husband after the petunias bloomed? Possibly. Murder is more civilized than divorce. The first story of the collection describes the calculated withdrawal of love from a household. The story that follows is of an unpleasant cast, too. Francis Cleary is inane, and as such is the perfect guest for his married friends. Sadly, though, he produces a melancholy ...

Into God's Cold Gray Eye8 reviews
E. Robert Orn

Amazon, 2006

What really hides in the clouds.
E Robert Orn paints a vivid picture of life on the Drop Zone. He captures the easy camaraderie of sport parachutists and the banter that flows back and forth prior to a jump. It is after the exiting the plane that things begin to change. What really hides inside those dark storm clouds? Those who have never ventured there will never know.

Cold Hands, Dark Hearts: Big Eyes, Small Mouth RPG Supplement1 review
David Okum

Guardians of Order, 2003

Great Fun!
this is a great addition to any BESM campaign or the book contains its own campaign setting that can be used. I haven't actually played with these rules yet, but reading through the templates look like they could make for a very fun campaign. There are a few editing problems I noticed, and a couple of the rules are worded a little strangly, but overall looks very solid.

The Spy Who Came in from the Cold (Bull's-eye)104 reviews
John Le Carre

Nelson Thornes Ltd, 1991

one of the masterworks of literature
I had heard good things about this book, but I'm sad to say I had never heard that it is as good as it is. This is a phenomenal book, that doesn't cheap out at the end. It's told is a colder, more impersonal style that really fits the story--sets the mood and all. This book is on my definite must read. You should own this book.

Cold Eyes47 reviews
Romina Wilcox

Xlibris Corporation, 2007

What a great read!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I am by no means a professional writer, I just love to read. I got "Cold Eyes" a while ago and was finally able to read it. I read the book in one sitting because I simply could not put it down. Romina Wilcox has a way of taking you on a journey. It starts off slow and easy then goes all twisty-turney on you. The plot twists were wicked and fun and I enjoyed the novel very much. I found ...

Cast a Cold Eye2 reviews
Alan Ryan

Dark Harvest Books, 1984

Creepy Irish setting makes a great ghost story
Probably the best "ghost" novel of recent years, and all the better for it for having a rarely seen setting. Ryan sets his tale on a remote corner of Ireland, and captures the feeling of desperation in the community perfectly. It starts with a meeting with a phantom by the roadside, then steadily ratchets up the tension as the protagonist finds out the true cost of living in the community, ...

The Cold Eyes of Provence: How it was/How it is6 reviews
Dinko Lucic

AuthorHouse, 2001

Brilliant!
This story and its totally unexpected ending (a rare refresher these days) was simply fantastic! I have never come across such a woman to woman portrayal. Also, the war scenes are shown from a completely different angle. I can't wait for another book from this author. I wonder what his next novel will be about. The uniqueness of this book lays in the contrast of a fabulous love story and the ...

Robert A. McDonald

REVIEW 1 of 3: Corona:NRO Reconnaissance Eye
Of the 3 books on this subject which I have so far read, this society press (ASPRS [ex-student member]) proceedings of a meeting (RAM, ed.), this is the most detailed and technical (includes geoid information (++)). Overall the best public book on the subject was also confirmed after after meeting with ex-DDCI Wheelon at LLNL. Cold Eye1 review
Giles Blunt

Bantam Books Ltd, 1990

Just okay
Having read the author's recent Forty Words for Sorrow, I was curious to read his first novel. Published in 1989, Blunt has come a very long way in the intervening years. Cold Eye is a cold book on a Faustian theme: an artist, in essence, makes a deal with the devil -- in this case a hideous dwarf -- in return for success. Nicholas Hood's chosen theme for his paintings is violent death. While his ...
