DYLAN is the second book in THE CLIQUE SUMMER COLLECTION, and lives up to the reputation of the CLIQUE series. Svetlana has recently gotten out of rehab for her anger management issues, and this is her first match and interview since her last incident. Dylan and Svetlana ...

Spawn Collection, Vol. 114 reviews
Todd McFarlane

Image Comics, 2006

Great read!!!
Al Simmons/Spawn is one of the more interesting comic book characters I've read who I'd recommend to anybody. He's no tight spandex mr. perfect who wants to save the world so he can get a pat on the back, no he is a flawed man struggling with his inner demons while caught in the middle of an ongoing war between heaven and hell. If your looking for something engaging to read than this is it, ...

The Clique Summer Collection #3: Alicia (Clique Series)7 reviews

Poppy, 2008

Courtesy of Teens Read Too
Even though ALICIA is the third book in THE CLIQUE SUMMER COLLECTION, I am yet to be bored by the series! Alicia is the character of the Clique who can stand out in a crowd. She goes to spend her summer without her parents in Spain, and she and Nina (who came to OCD in the series and caused a lot of havoc) create a lot of trouble. Alicia finds herself with a job she does not want, to pay for ...

Disney Storybook Collection (Disney Storybook Collections)5 reviews

Disney Press, 2006

Great Stories, well illustrated. My son's favorite
This is a very good book. My son loves the stories. The table of contents has a picture of each of the 2 dozen stories, and he can pick out which one to read each night. It makes a perfect bedtime story. He also liked the stickers in the back. I'm here online looking for the others in the series.

The Clique Summer Collection #5: Claire (Clique Series)2 reviews

Poppy, 2008

Courtesy of Teens Read Too
Sadly, this is the last book in the fabulous CLIQUE SUMMER COLLECTION series. It really ends with a bang, however! Claire is back in Florida with her old best friends, and then Massie shows up. How can Claire handle having a group of friends that are not as popular as she is now, and Massie (who makes Westchester look like a snob town) in the same place? And on top of all that, Claire is ...

The Clique Summer Collection #4:Kristen (Cli Series)4 reviews

Poppy, 2008

A wicked good time
As a member of the exclusive Pretty Committee clique, Kristen Gregory is popular (times 10), stylish, snobby, fake-rich and insecure. But she has a secret that even her PC friends don't know. Her biggest secret is also her salvation and a source of joy. Kristen belongs to the Witty Committee, a group of intellectually gifted students who assemble via their PCs and role play as the gifted person ...

Teen's Musical Theatre Collection - Young Women's (Book/CD): Young Women's Edition Book/CD Pack11 reviews
Louise Lerch

Hal Leonard Corporation, 2001

My budding vocalist loves it!
My 13-year-old is taking group voice lessons. Last year, we just had to go with the book the teacher chose. She just didn't connect with any of the songs in it. This year, we shopped for our own and bought on Amazon because the price was so much more reasonable than from the publisher's website. This book had many songs that she really enjoys! We love the accompanyment CD and often keep it in ...

The Rejection Collection Vol. 2: The Cream of the Crap8 reviews

Simon Spotlight Entertainment, 2007

Off-the-Wall Delight
I have to admit at the outset that I don't laugh as easily as others I know. Too much so called humor seems predictable or formulaic these days. Not so, The Rejection Collection volumes. This book and its predecessor had me giggling, chuckling, laughing and occasionally guffawing from cover to cover. The cartoons are great. Many are twisted, a little sick, or iconoclastic, which tickles me no ...

Collections of Nothing3 reviews
William Davies King

University Of Chicago Press, 2008

A brilliant and eloquent treatise
William Davies King is an eccentric genius who bares his soul in this astute, frightfully intimate, and painfully honest exploration of the psychology of collecting. The writing is exquisite and witty (e.g. "They would become playful wrights, and I would knot" and "What I was missing was the middle ground, the female body, the something into which I could locate my nothing, the nothing into ...

The Rejection Collection: Cartoons You Never Saw, and Never Will See, in The New Yorker37 reviews

Simon Spotlight Entertainment, 2006

The Rejection Collection
The Rejection Collection is a must for any book lover's collection. The concept of this book is particularly appealing - a glimpse into a cartoon artist's mind and into the standards of the New Yorker. By reading The Rejection Collection, you will have the rare opportunity to see into the childhood of each artist and discover the unusual, often brilliant, thinking process of the cartoonist. ...

Disney Press, 2006

GREAT book for kids !
These storybook collections are great. I already bought the Disney "Princess" version for my niece, and this version for my nephew. The price point is fabulous, and the 200 stickers in the back are a real treat as well.

The Web Collection Revealed Standard Edition: Adobe Dreamweaver CS3, Flash CS3 & Fireworks CS3 (Revealed)3 reviews
Sherry Bishop, James E. Shuman, ...

Delmar Cengage Learning, 2007

Beautifully illustrated, well written and helpful
This is one of several tutorial packages I bought at the same time to help me learn the Adobe CS3 suite of web-related programs. I wanted to determine which was the best to start with, so I sampled a couple of chapters from each of about six titles before deciding this was the clearly best of the group to get me started. My main interest is in learning Flash, but I've got a use for almost ...

Art Making, Collections, and Obsessions: An Intimate Exploration of the Mixed-Media Work and Collections of ...27 reviews
Lynne Perrella

Quarry Books, 2008

Loved It!
I have always loved the work of Lynne Perrella, but she has outshone even herself by compiling this book of artists from the same ilk as herself. Being a compulsive collecter and an artist myself, this book was irrestible and to see what other artists collect is both engaging and delicious at the same time! Congratulations to Lynne Perrella for this wonderful book. I have already researched ...

What can I say... Any Disney collection is fantastic. I've read and reread these stories to my daughter. Sturdy books, great pictures.

The Collection: A Novel5 reviews
Gioia Diliberto

Scribner, 2008

A wonderful --and wonderfully readable -- novel
You don't need to be a fashionista or a seamstress, or even know what a gusset is, to love The Collection. This novel is really about the intense joy of creativity, about making beauty in the face of whatever life throws at you. For Isabelle Varlet and Coco Chanel the medium is women's clothing, but theirs are the same struggles any artist faces-- to realize a vision and have the world ...

Developing Library and Information Center Collections: Fifth Edition (Library and Information Science Text ...3 reviews
G. Edward Evans, Margaret Zarnosky Saponaro

Libraries Unlimited, 2005

A very solid and practical guide....
This volume by Evans and Sapanaro was a textbook in my collection development class. Given the very pragmatic approach of my instructor, I'm not surprised she selected this book. First of all, collection development can be a very politically charged responsibility, especially in a public library. While this book may not give you all the nitty gritty details of how to deal with every situation ...

My Horizontal Life: A Collection of One-Night Stands241 reviews
Chelsea Handler

Bloomsbury USA, 2005

Laugh out loud funny!
I thought this was such a funny book. Not for the faint of heart, but if you are a Chelsea Handler fan, you'll love this book. I can hear her saying and doing some of the things she describes, well written and true to Chelsea.
