It's Laugh Out Loud Funny
A really funny, quick read. Some of it was a little over the top, but definitely entertaining and worth it. I listened to it on audio, and Chelsea's voice cracked me up. She sounded just like a good friend of mine, and it was like I was listening to her go through all of these funny exploits.

Diary of a Wimpy Kid by Jeff Kinny
Yes, I know what you're thinking. A novel? In... Cartoons? Well, here's the thing. Diary of A Wimpy Kid is written as the journal of Greg Heffley. It is a real novel, with a few pictures here and there to reinforce what you have read and to add a bit of comedy to the already funny book. So, if I haven't already explained the plot of the "journal", I'll do so now. The book chronicles the daily ...

LOVE PLUM-
This series is my absolute favorite "relax and read". Such great characters and always makes me laugh- perhaps after 14 there are just so many high expectations that fans get overly critical. Every person I recommend this just adores Stephanie Plum. Keep em coming Evanovich- but hey can you throw us a bone and get Stephanie to pick Ranger?

Laugh out loud funny!
I thought this was such a funny book. Not for the faint of heart, but if you are a Chelsea Handler fan, you'll love this book. I can hear her saying and doing some of the things she describes, well written and true to Chelsea.

Funke is on a serious roll
I love the Inkheart trilogy, I seriously can't get enough of it! I must admit at first I was somewhat reluctant to read the conclusion to the trilogy, afraid it might be a letdown as most serie-enders are becoming, but it was as excellent as the first and second books (not to mention the breathtaking cover). Its excellently paced, descriptive, suspenseful, and keeps you flipping the pages, just ...

Weather Fantasy!
The story comically portrays the lifestyles of the residents, showing their anticipation of the weather forecast, and their reluctance of leaving the house without plates or silverware! The meals are consistent, the restaurants are roofless, and the Sanitation Department must clear the roads after every meal. Perhaps the most charming aspect of the book is the forecast descriptions of the meals, ...

An Equally Enjoyable Sequel!
Jeff Kinney's "Diary of a Wimpy Kid"-series are an excellent way to "trick" people into becoming readers. The books read fast, they're very funny (sometimes laugh out loud funny), the pictures liven up every page, and they can appeal to a wide age group. Adults will read the books and fondly remember similar adventures of their youth. Children and teens can read them to laugh at the ...

Just the kick in the pants I needed
'Skinny Bitch'. I would not have guessed by the title that this was a book written by a couple of vegans, but I loved it! I have no problem with the language, being a foul-mouthed former Army chick myself. In fact, I loved the way they insulted my fat, disgusting *ss! Everything they write is the truth about the sick way I've been treating my body. As for veganism, having fallen off the ...

Hats Off to the Incredible Barbara Walters
In the Prologue of this fascinating memoir, Barbara Walters explains that one of her motivations for writing about her life was that young people starting out in television sometimes said to her: "I want to be you." Barbara's stock reply was: "Then you have to take the whole package." In Audition, Barbara brilliantly reveals her "whole package," including the love mixed with resentment she ...

Funny, strange, disturbing, good
This is the first Palahniuk book I've read, and I look forward to reading more of his books. Based upon the description of the book, this isn't one that I'd likely pick up to read...the redemption/recovery/whatever you call it of a sex addict just didn't seem that interesting. However, Palahniuk throws in enough twists and symbolism to make this a very entertaining read. The book was hard ...

Not for those who believe the Bible is absolute truth....
I have read this book about three times and it never fails to entertain me. Now, if you are thinking I am not a Christian- you are wrong. I am- but I choose to see this book as an "interpretation" of the greatest, and saddest story every told. I choose to keep in mind that Mr. Moore took a chance at recreating Christ's lost years. What strikes me most about the book was how beautifully Moore ...

Best Book I Ever Read
Catch-22 is a jarring, thrilling, hysterical exposition of the oppression and dominance which pervades lives and lifestyles in the modern era. Full of classic dialogue, superb characters, wonderfully narrated, Catch-22 may be the best book ever written. A heartbreaking achievement of staggering genius!

We haven't had any irony here since about, uh, '83 . . And I stopped because I was tired of being stared at.
A better title for this might be: "Ways to ingratiate yourself with white people and get free stuff from them by knowing how to manipulate them through the 150 things they like most." OK, I have to admit I laughed at this (#103), but I don't like Sarah Silverman (#52) and I don't get John Stewart or Steven Colbert (#35), even though I could not imagine living with a TV (#28). Too many ...

Fun travel book
This book saved me during a 9 hour bus trip. It was a totally fun, light read, that was very Sex and the City. I found myself thinking about he characters days after I was finished with the book - I grew attached! The book is well researched and very current. I did think that the beginning was slow and the trip to Bonaire could have been a lot funnier. Some parts were even repetitive ...

Not heartwarming... in a good way.
Before reading this book, I very much thought from the title (and because at the time I did not know who David Sedaris is)that it would be a "heart wrenching tale" about some child who is physically unable to speak or doesn't have access to a decent education. It was one of those books I meant to get to someday, but probably never would. Finally someone clued me in. I read it in a day. ...
