Recruiters were practically knocking down my door!
This is a great book! I posted my competency-based resume on Monster.com at 2AM. By morning I had two voicemails and three emails from recruiters for interviews and over the next week I was flooded with calls and emails! I wanted to change my number! I owe it all to this book. It has several examples on competency-based resumes for various stages in your career. It teaches you how to ...

A must for anyone trying to figure out what they're doing wrong at interviews
As a Columbia MBA student, I found Kessler's book really helpful. I've found interviewing at business school very difficult because I'm surrounded by amazingly well-qualified competition! Interviews are one of my weakest points and I've read a bunch of interview guides in the hopes of finding out what I'm doing wrong. Until this book, I found these guides kind of useless and a waste of money ...

An excellent study material!
I used this book in addition to Ready for RICA by James Zarillo. You MUST read the instruction pages, or the book will seem pointless. But if you read the instructions, you will get a lot from the book itself. There are sample case studies similiar to those on the RICA with all possible answers listed. There are also study tips to help prepare for the exam. This book was a core in my ...

An Excellent Book on Management
I first read "Management" by Hellriegel and Slocum when I was doing my MBA in 1989. Management was one of my favourite subjects then since I needed practical guidance on how to effectively plan, lead, motivate, organise and control my large department in my organisation with large numbers of subordinates under me. I then found the book to be very useful, easy to understand and logical and I used ...

Easy Reading Research
Learning how to decipher the technical jargon surrounding research is never easy. This book makes it easy. Along with thorough explanations and an abundance of examples, there is a bit of humor tossed in. The humor helps break up the intense explanations. There are also many charts and graphs that help synthesize the information into an easy learning format. I would recommend this book for anyone ...

STRONGLY COMMENDED TO ALL HR PROFESSIONALS!
Competency-based HR management focuses first on the person and then on his or her outputs or results. With all aspects of HR integrated through competencies, rather than through jobs and work activities, the organization has a competency-based HR system. Competencies are enduring while work activities and tasks are transitory, therefore, the book proposes that a person- versus job-oriented ...

Very disappointed...
I'm not sure if the problem is English as a second language, poor translation, or bad proofreading/editing--but I was very disappointed with the contents of this (very expensive, very small) paperback book. There are some potentially useful checklists, but overall, it "felt" like a PhD dissertation awkwardly turned into a book.

An Excellent Review!
This book really helped me review for things I did not get to practice in my clinicals (which I did get tested on, of course). The layout is neat and easy to follow. There are practice tests in the back with answers and explanations. I recommend this book for students to follow during their course as well as those who have to refresh the material.

I didn't feel it correlated with my textbooks
I felt like the assignments and questions inside this lab book were really difficult for me to do as a student because I couldn't find the information in any of the 3 textbooks we have. I didn't like the "illustartions" either. I would have preferred real photos.
