Not Just for Birth Partners
As a mother of 7 and 1 on the way, I have read many books on pregnancy and birth. My first thought when I read this book was that I wish every pregnant woman would read this book. It is full of the information that many Dr.'s/caregivers fail to relay to their patients. Too many mothers (myself included) go into labor and birth completely ignorant to what is happening to them. The book gives a ...

Preemie Bible
This is the greatest preemie book. My friend gave me a copy when I went into labor with my first at 26 weeks. It answered so many questions. I took it to the meetings I had with the doctors and they were impressed with the book. I have loaned my copy out to many other NICU parents. I recommend this book for anyone who has a baby in the NICU, but only read the parts that effect you. There is a ...

The childbirth Bible
I highly recommend reading this book before each birth. There are very helpful summary charts at the end of each chapter. I have tabs throughout the book for easy reference while in the hospital. So far, my labors have been quick, but if they were slower, this would be very valuable.

The First of its Kind
Three years ago, I took a trip to my local book store in search of books about preemies. The selection I found was limited at best. I spent hours searching for a book with real stories about babies born prematurely-I found not one. I found some good informative books, which were also important, but none that gave me the kind of hope and inspiration I so desperately needed those weeks and months ...

At Last! No more Provera!
I am a 53 year old woman who underwent menopause at 43, and since I still have my uterus, I struggled with Premarin and it's ugly sidekick Provera for almost 8 years. I even tried Dr. John Lee's Progesterone alternative, but to no avail. Then finally, a female friend suggested that I go see her naturopathic MD here in Scottsdale. She put me on the "naturals" and within a few months I was ...

A Must-Read for a Difficult Decision
I just finished reading this, along with "The Vaccine Guide" by R. Neustaedter (which I own). Both books give a good overview of both sides of the controversey, and both authors make clear their own professional opinions. Dr. Feder has decided against vaccinating her own children, but makes clear that parents must make their own decisions based on their own individual circumstances. Dr. ...

Excellent resource!
I read this book cover to cover after checking it out at my local library, but decided to purchase my own copy as a reference and to be able to loan it to others who may need to read it. As a person who was diagnosed with the BRCA2 mutation, I needed to make an informed decision regarding reconstruction after a bi-lateral mastectomy. This book was extremely helpful and I would recommend it to ...

Excellent Handbook!
The Labor Progress Handbook, though a bit pricey, is an excellent book. It contains a tons of labor information and is complete with many illustrations. It's a nice compact size, which makes it easy to carry with you (great for doulas, midwives, etc.). I love it!

Well organized, comprehensive, informative, and motivating
Like many, I knew nothing about MTBI or its effects until I suffered a concussion a month ago. My doctor was helpful and properly diagnosed the condition but frankly his style was terse, to the point, and directed only at the largest symptoms I've experienced. A half hour consultation is not sufficient to explore each of the dozen symptoms I experienced. This book was a godsend for me. The ...

Get this book
If you or someone you know has cancer, get this book. My mom was diagnosed with cancer 5 years ago. Her oncologist tried to manipulate her into getting chemo and radiation. Even the radiologist who had been consulted said that radiation would not help her cancer. He had an agenda. He didn't care if it would help her at all. He was the director of the cancer center, you see. He was ...

I had a successful VBAC b/c of this book...
I loved this book! Dr. Bruce Flamm should be given an award for his no nonesense view of VBAC. He is the reason I left my doctor at 6 months pregnant so I could pursue a doctor who didn't want to cut me open just because I had a c-section the last pregnancy!! You need to buy this book if you are looking to do a VBAC!! It is not as outdated as some would say. It still applies today!

Vital Data for Health
A little "pocket book" the kind you would see at a grocery checkout. But the data presented about this vital mineral magnesium most persons would have to locate and research the various books and articles the author has included in his bibliography to find. The general public AND most doctors are unaware of the number of problems magnesium deficiency is currently causing us. I wish everybody ...

I had read 30 different books on Autism and related topics, before I read "When Your Doctor is Wrong,...". Her book was a validation of everything that all those other books left out. Finally someone looked at the one shot I knew was our problem Hep B. I got the book in the mail on a Friday, and finished it before going to sleep on Friday night. Carolyn Chambers Clark has written a MUST HAVE book for women of all ages who want to be in control of their own health, particularly during the life-changing time of menopause. 18 Year Survivor and Counting!!!
I am an 18 year survivor of Osteoganic Sarcoma and I found this book to be one of the best and informative books I've ever read. I read things that I didn't even know about my disease or the long term late effects due to the chemotherapy I received. I will admit, at times it was TOO much information, but it was all factual and there were things that I read that I had to come to term with. I have ...

The easier-to-read "Bible" of Obstetrics
There are two texts that are considered the most authoritative on the subject of Obstetrics. Williams is edited by the staff at Parkland, the largest Obstetric hospital in the U.S. and not surprisingly, they consider their text to be "the premier source for the specialty". Williams is also academically dry. Gabbe, by comparison, is easier to read and covers essentially the same material. This ...

Exposing the Dark Side of Mandatory Vaccination
This book was well worth a second read. I first read it in 1996. As a member of the generation that was allowed to get the measles and chicken pox, this book made sense to me. As the parent of a child brain-damaged from pertussis vaccine toxins, I welcomed this well researched work. I wish I had read it when I was pregnant with Bill. I read so much on nutrition and breast-feeding. I did not ...
