I have suggested to my business contacts to read this book and they all say they have benefited from the information. Even if your company decides not to develop a complete plan, you will find valuable steps you can take that will reduce your disaster risk easily and without major funding. It is set up ...

The Disaster Recovery Handbook: A Step-by-Step Plan to Ensure Business Continuity and Protect Vital ... 6 reviews Michael Wallace, Lawrence Webber
AMACOM, 2004
Great Handbook. Extremely helpful for developing a DR plan. I found the book extremely valuable in getting a disaster recovery plan developed. The book was very helpful in not only showing step-by-step HOW to put together our plan, but also did a great job in explaining WHY something should be in the plan. It also focused on the entire business, not just on technology as some other books on the subject do.

American Government 2008: Continuity and Change 2 reviews Karen C. O'connor, Larry J. Sabato
Pearson Longman, 2007
Easy to study from I had to purchase this book for a U.S. government class that I took. I found this book well organized with memorable examples. Moreover, it has key words and concepts printed on the edges, which makes it easy to study and helps to focus on the main points. The authors also took advantage of graphic organizers. Furthermore, they picked up current events and created "to-think-about boxes." I love ...

A Risk Management Approach to Business Continuity: Aligning Business Continuity with Corporate Governance 2 reviews Julia Graham, David Kaye
Rothstein Associates Inc., 2006
A great book to understand the BCM in light of Risk Management I have chosen this book from the list of Business Continuity Institute recommended literature. I cannot say it was a well-informed choice. However I did not regret it even a single bit. One thing that instantly attracted me was the link between Business Continuity and Risk Management in its heading.
The book was true to its heading.
Pros:
- The book is very well-structured
- The book is ...

Continuity and Discontinuity: Perspectives on the Relationship Between the Old and New Testaments 2 reviews Rodney Petersen
Crossway Books, 1988
One of the BEST books on the topic This book has to hit the top of the list when it comes to the topic of continuity and discontinuity between the OT and NT. The authors come from predominantly two theological backgrounds: Reformed (covenant) or dispensational (though D. Moo and W. Kaiser who side on the discontinuity side are not dispensationalists themselves). There are in total 7 parts to the book. Section 1 deals with ...

After Bush: The Case for Continuity in American Foreign Policy 5 reviews Timothy J. Lynch, Robert S. Singh
Cambridge University Press, 2008
ESSENTIAL READING FOR ALL AMERICANS: A MUST-READ This is a rare and brilliant book: beautifully and clearly written, punctiliously researched, and with a clear and important message: that, once elected, American presidents have far more in common with one another than is usually believed, especially by their partisan supporters. What these two British co-authors have superbly succeeded in doing is---unlike the majority of biased books on ...

The Definitive Handbook of Business Continuity Management 3 reviews
Wiley, 2008
Comprehensive, but not definitive. I am a researcher within Supply Chain Risk Management (SCRM), which has many similarities with Business Continuity Management (BCM). That is why SCRM can and should draw upon BCM for advice. One of many good references for further reading on this subject is the The Definitive Handbook of Business Continuity Management. I haven't read enough books on BCM to say that this is "the definitive" ...

Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery Planning for IT Professionals 1 review Susan Snedaker
Syngress, 2007
A Must Have Book for IT Pro's Business continuity and disaster recovery are hot topics in IT these days and with good reason. The problem is, no one who actually works IN IT has time to deal with it. Enter Susan Snedaker's new book. I'm a big fan of Ms. Snedaker's, I own her book on IT Project Management and have used it to train my staff on how to manage IT projects. So, I'm already biased toward her books - but even so, ...
