THE IS SUPERB ! BUY THIS - IT'S A TRUE GIFT !
I had heard of As a Man Thinketh and decided to get it. I saw a set (7 Motivational Greats) that included As a Man Thinketh and the Acres of Diamonds and 5 others and figured for only a couple of $ more than just As a Man Thinketh if any one of the additional titles was good I couldn't lose. I am reviewing this audiobook from the set I bought. THEY NEED MORE THAN 5 STARS FOR THIS ONE ! ...

Clunky Title, Excellent Book!
Kent Conwell comes through once again in this fine, character-driven cowboy adventure. Funny, heartwarming, and exciting. The characters' thoughts and actions are totally believable, and completely in keeping with the era in which they live. A fine storyteller reminiscent of Louis L'Amour. It's a shame about the title. Must have been some New York editor.

Against All Odds in a Country Teaming with Danger
Buster Adams might not be everyone's idea of a rough, tough cowhand. Standing five foot six or seven (depending on the heels of his boots) he doesn't strike the most imposing figure, but his experience on the trail, and his tenacity of purpose when facing up to varmints - hombres and critters alike - make him a force to be reckoned with. One fateful day, in a countryside teaming with hostile ...

Success Classic
Russell Conwell's book, "Acres of Diamonds" was developed from a speech he delivered to church congregations over 5,000 times. The proceeds he earned from this speech are reputed to have given him a fortune, which he used to found Temple University in Philadelphia. "Acres of Diamonds" is the story of a successful farmer in India named Al Hafed. Hafed is tempted by the allure of wealth and ...

Another Winner from the Conwell Stable
Another exciting, heartwarming western saga from the consistently fine Kent Conwell. As with most all of his other novels, we spend very little time on intro and set-up. By page ten we're on the road heading into our first adventure. Despite having written books with similar themes, "A Wagon Train for Brides" and "Buster Adams and the Ragamuffin Gang," the story remains fresh because 1)the ...

Worthy of Louis L'Amour!
This is the first Kent Conwell I've read, and it will most definitely not be the last. Fast paced and cleanly written, with intelligent characters, intriguing situations, excellent villains, and great heroes! Everything you could hope for in a traditional cowboy novel. The Louis L'Amour well has just about dried up for me, and I've been at loose ends looking for a worthy successor. I need ...

Another "Code of the West" gem.
Kent Conwell does it again. The lone stranger in town standing up to the local land-grabbing villain - not because it's the easy thing to do, but because it is the right thing to do. Excellent characters and savvy plotting make this a worthwhile read. Western storytelling at its best.

Informative, enjoyable and inspiring
This is a masterpiece, a must for all Jesuits and those interested in the religious history of the West, esp. of the Late Middle Ages. Fr. Conwell, a man of immense erudition, weaved such an interesting tapestry based on the 1539 text of The First Sketch of the Institute of the Society of Jesus or Cum ex plurium, using the first three Latin words of a papal document. You get an in-depth ...

According to Napolean Hill this book covers the subject of his lesson on the law of success as thought it had been written for that purpose; covers it in a far more impressive manner than he could have done. If anyone out there has this book and is willing to sell it, please please let me know. My email is cubangoddesschic@hotmail.com Thanks.

Regular People Can Accomplish Great Things
At 64 pages from cover-to-cover, "Acres of Diamonds" is probably the shortest book I've read in a long time. Written by Baptist minister and founder of Temple University, Russell H. Conwell, this book originated as one of his sermons, which was so popular that it was published as a book. "Acres of Diamonds" is based on a parable told to Conwell by an Arab guide during a trip to the Middle ...

TRACKING THE RUSTLERS & EXPOSING A KILLER
This book appeared as an Avalon hardcover western before Leisure Westerns issued it earlier this spring in mass market paperback as one of their club selections. The book, as all Avalon westerns I've read, is a very interesting book with likable characters moving though a very engaging plot. Attempting to get the right of approval from a western town to establish a stagecoach way station, a ...

A Grand Old West Adventure
John Howard Forrest, or "Howie" to all who know him, is one of the best cattle-driving men in the west. He can drive a herd of two thousand longhorns from Texas to Abilene and not lose more than two dozen along the trail. But now maybe he's bit off a little more than he can chew. Colonel Wilt Egerton has hired him to trail boss a wagon train of twenty-eight brides over six hundred miles of ...

This is only one of Kent Conwell's books that I have read. There are many others that I have read. And I give them all a 5. He leaves you laughing and smiling throughout the day when you read one of his books. I really enjoyed the one about the wagon train and all the women going out west. I laughed, I cried. I love his books. He puts so much emotion into his books. If no one has ever read a Kent ...

Red River Crossing by Kent Conwell
If you have never read one of Kent Conwell's books, you are missing a lot. And this one only proves that he gets better and better. I enjoyed reading this. Mr. Conwell not only makes believable characters but he instills humor, action and emotion in his works. When I read the part about the boil, I could picture the whole event the way he expressed it on paper. He is an excellent writer. Of all ...
