Cool Stuff 2.0: And How it Works3 reviews
Jon Woodcock, Chris Woodford

DK CHILDREN, 2007

Great Book
This was bought as a Christmas book for my 9-year-old son and it has been a big hit. The book is big and colorful and has great photo layouts of the "insides" of all kinds of neat devices. The photos and captions explain how the devices work. If you have a child who is always asking "How do they do that?" or "How does that work?" then this book is a great choice.

The iPod Book: Doing Cool Stuff with the iPod and the iTunes Store, Third Edition
I just received a iPod for father's day. I am retired and when not shooting clay targets I read therefore I immediately downloaded two audiobooks and started reading. I also loaded my favorite song from the fiftys. Since I am a novice I purchased the iPod book and it is everything I need to learn how to use my iPod to the best advantage. I highly recommend this book.

Draw Really Cool Stuff2 reviews
Doug DuBosque

Books Are Fun, 2000

Great Book
This is a great book for students that are interested in drawing. It takes the drawing from a very basic level, with clear, concise steps, to a finished products. I bought it for my ten year old to perfect his drawing. The drawings are a little advanced for him, but it challenges him and because the steps are very clear even he, at his young age, can drawn with this book. A must have for ...

Gibbs Smith, Publisher, 2007

Simple and Exciting
't was great fun! We already built two of the projects described with detailed directions and plans in this wonderful book: the downhill racer ... and what fun do the kids have with it! and the lemonade stand on wheels, which we take sometimes to the beach. We are looking forward to build a tree house next spring. If experience is any guide, it should be ready for the summer.

This is an awesome book that shows the individual pieces of each gadget and explains briefly how it works. Very large and crisp pictures like all DK books. With the variety of gadgets and everyday objects, including future tech, this book will appeal to older readers as well as DK's usually young audience. There are many fold out pages that show 4 page spreads of "exploded" stuff. The only ...

Twenty one years later, I still remember it.
Back in the early 80s, when I was having a hard time reading and nothing could keep my interest, I found this book in a used book store. Something about it caught my attention. I read it and fell in love with the characters. It helped create a love for reading that I never thought I'd have. Google Web Toolkit Solutions: More Cool & Useful Stuff3 reviews
David Geary, Rob Gordon

Prentice Hall PTR, 2007

My new review
I posted a review (back in January, this updated review is posted in late May 2008) that slammed Prentice Hall for not making the code samples available from anywhere except through a 90 day free trail thru Safari (an online subscription based service). The editor and one author responded and let me know that the site was incorrectly missing in the book, but that a site (called ...
