:) Good Intro Caculus Text
This is the text I used in a senior high school mathematics course. (Ontario, Canada 1980.) I still refer to it periodically. The greatest thing I can say about it: *As math books go* this one is fairly easy to read and reasonably complete. The worst thing: It is an introductory book and not an *advanced* calculus text.

Basic GIS Coordinates
Well Jan has done it again! "Basic GIS Coordinates" should prove to be a much applauded and appreciated work not unlike his other books. Again he has explained and presented complex subjects in a simple down-to-earth manner. This book is great for gaining a basic understanding of geodesy without all of the "science". For the seasoned veteran it has value as well. There are some new ...

A fascinating introduction to coordinate geometry.
The authors of this slim volume demonstrate the power of coordinate geometry, which they describe as a means of translating geometric figures into algebraic formulas, through their lucid exposition, interesting examples, and well-chosen exercises. The authors begin with the coordinate geometry of the real line. They discuss absolute value and define what distance means. Next the authors ...
Parallel Coordinates: Visual Multidimensional Geometry and Its Applications
Alfred Inselberg
Springer
, 2009
This book is about visualization, systematically incorporating our fantastic pattern-recognition into the problem-solving process, and focusing on parallel coordinates. The barrier, imposed by our 3-dimensional habitation and perceptual experience, has been breached by this innovative and versatile methodology. The accurate visualization of multidimensional problems and multivariate data unlocks insights into the role of dimensionality. ...

Coordinates Of Elementary Surveying
J. C. L. Fish
Curzon Press
, 2007
PREFACE In my first eight years of teaching surveying in the custom- ary way, stress was laid on those fundamental principles of the subject which are independent of the circumstances of surveying, namely personnel, equipment, nature of the survey and of the ground. Nevertheless it was to be observed that on subsequently taking up the study of railroad surveying too many of the students were deficient in grasp of fundamentals. Six years ago the ...

The Methods of Plane Projective Geometry Based on the Use of General Homogenous Coordinates
E. A. Maxwell
Cambridge University Press
, 1946
This is a book about powerful mathematical methods rather than a mere catalogue of the properties of conics. The treatment is elegant and refreshing as well as systematic, and throughout the book the author is concerned to lay the foundations of future work. Consequently (unlike too many textbooks) there is little for the student to unlearn when he goes on to more advanced courses. A valuable feature is the large number of carefully selected and ...

This detailed study demonstrates proper deployment of the geometrical approach to linear statistical method. Among the topics discussed are the general linear model of Gauss, Bayes estimation and the Kalman filter. With over sixty fully documented figures portraying vector spaces, orthogonal projections, and related items, Stone explains that the basic operations of linear statistical method do not change with the coordinate system; their ...
