Corduroy Goes to School (Lift-the-Flap Book (Viking).) 3 reviews Don Freeman
Viking Juvenile, 2002
Adorable and perfect for getting ready for preschool! My 2 year old son loves this book! We started reading a few weeks before preschool began, and it really helped him know what to expect at school. Even after school started, he wants to read it every night and tell us what he does at school that is just like Corduroy, as well as what is different. We've been able to discuss sharing, his teachers, and get more information from him about how he's ...

A Pocket for Corduroy 7 reviews Don Freeman
Viking Juvenile, 1978
Loved by My 2 Year Old My 2 1/2 year old adores this book. In fact, I have had to make a rule of no more than twice a day. He calls it the "laundry book". I must disagree about the caged bear scene being frightening. My son specifically requests the caged bear scene and is obviously not scared in the least. It is a sweet tale of a little girl and her little bear. I love how the author uses some big words in a ...

Corduroy's Christmas (Lift-the-Flap) 2 reviews Don Freeman, B. G. Hennessy
Viking Juvenile, 1992
Good book for toddlers My almost two-year-old son loves this book so much that on occasion I have hidden it so I could get a break. The illustrations are cute and very relevant. The story has only a few words per page so it is appropriate for young readers. My only complaint is that the flaps are not as sturdy as alot of other flap books. Still, we have definitely gotten our money's worth out of Corduroy's Christmas.

Dress Your Family in Corduroy and Denim 313 reviews David Sedaris
Back Bay Books, 2005
Sedaris knows how to show you a great time. I've loved every one of Sedaris' books, and just fininshed re-reading this one. I felt like some good laughs, and his books really deliver. Sometimes a "yikes" rather than a laugh, but always an impact. I have yet to find anyone than has the wit and style and ability to fascinate as well as produce a belly laugh like David Sedaris.

Corduroy's Christmas Surprise 2 reviews Don Freeman
Grosset & Dunlap, 2000
Corduroy's Christmas Surprise This is a very sweet book that is definitely worth adding to your Christmas book collection. My 2 1/2 year old loves it. The illustrations are fun and the story has a terrific moral - Corduroy changes his laundry list letter to Santa to focus on the more modest needs of his best friends.

Corduroy 40th Anniversary Edition 2 reviews
Viking Juvenile, 2008
Corduroy 40th Anniversary Ed. "Corduroy 40th Anniversary Ed." is such a cute story for children. The 40th Anniversary edition is special because it includes copies of the author's sketches as well as his notes and revisions. Some are in envelopes; others are folded over. It is quite cleverly done.

Corduroy (Puffin Storytime) 101 reviews Don Freeman
Puffin, 2007
Wonderful book We really enjoyed this book and reading it to our daughter - who is nearly three. It not only captivates her imagination but is full of wonderful old fashioned values - particularly of being "liked for the person who you are". I would highly recommend it.

Corduroy Book and Bear 1 review Don Freeman
Viking Juvenile, 2008
An oldie to be loved all over again by the next generation I bought this book for my grandson (8 mths old) as his dad had loved it when he was a boy and we had a teddy who wore overalls who we called Corduroy in honour of the little bear in the book. Even though the clothing of the little girl who rescues Corduroy from the shop is very dated, the story line is classic and my granddaughter of 2 and a half loved me reading it to her so obviously children ...

Corduroy's Snow Day 1 review Don Freeman
Viking Juvenile, 2005
We love Corduroy! Corduroy books are my daughter's (15 mo) favorites and this one is no exception. She still wants me to read it to her everyday even though the "snow days" are over for the year. The size is great for a toddler and the story is just the right length.

Corduroy Goes to the Doctor (lg format) 6 reviews Don Freeman
Viking Juvenile, 2005
Corduroy Goes to the Doctor This is an excellent book to prepare your child before going to the doctor. Many children are afraid of the unexpected. Being in the medical field, I find that children who are prepared beforehand do better. This book describes Corduroy's day at the doctor. It gives vivid pictures of him entering the office, being weighed, and having his throat and ears examined. It also shows the doctor ...

Corduroy Lost and Found (Corduroy) 1 review B. G. Hennessy
Viking Juvenile, 2006
Corduroy discover the moon This is the second book I bought for my daughter as she sees Corduroy on tivo and she asked me for the books. It's a nice story about a night time escape of Cordoroy in order to find a gift for Lisa's birthday.
It's perfect before going to sleep as it's short but has a good plot. It's one of the books I read and reread to my daughter as she always asks me. She likes very much the idea of the ...

Corduroy's Party 3 reviews
Viking Juvenile, 2005
Read to Your Child to Develop Bonding and Intellect! Researchers constantly find that reading to children is valuable in a variety of ways, not least of which are instilling a love of reading and improved reading skills. With better parent-child bonding from reading, your child will also be more emotionally secure and able to relate better to others. Intellectual performance will expand as well. Spending time together watching television fails ...

Corduroy's Best Halloween Ever! 3 reviews Don Freeman
Grosset & Dunlap, 2001
Corduroy is always a classic... I have followed Corduroy's adventures from the time he was discovered in the department store. He is adorable no matter where he is...or what he's doing. Being a children's book author and illustrator, I always admire those in my field who craft their stories with such warmth and charm. It's unfortunate there aren't more Corduroy characters around. He is truly a favorite.

Corduroy Goes to the Library (A Lift-the-Flap Book) 2 reviews B. G. Hennessy
Viking Juvenile, 2005
Good for a childs memory In this book while Corduroy is searching for his library books to return to the library, your child will be able to help him find his books. This lift flaps are fun and not so big that they will tear easily. I have loved Corduroy since I was a kid and now I am enjoying his educational adventure to the library with my 6 year old.

Corduroy's Busy Street (Corduroy (Board Book)) 1 review
Viking Juvenile, 2005
Recommend other Corduroy Board Books instead.... Like so many adapted board books, this particular Corduroy book ends very abruptly to me--there's no plot at all, just a series of activities throughout the day, but that don't occur in any necessary order. The other Corduroy books (some of the holiday books, for example, Corduroy's Day, Corduroy Goes to the Doctor, and Corduroy's Party come to mind) begin at hte beginning of a day or an event, ...

The Pocket for Corduroy 7 reviews Don Freeman
Live Oak Media, 1982
More adventures with Lisa's very own bear. . . In this installment of Corduroy's adventures with Lisa, we see that some time has passed since she first brought him home from the department store. She's taller, wearing her hair a little straighter, and her mom looks like she had a makeover, too. Corduroy, however, is wearing the same green overalls he did in the first book and has managed to keep both buttons on this time. Early on in the ...
