Wild Fire4 reviews
Nelson DeMille

Grand Central Publishing, 2006

One of his best.
This was truly spell-binding. One of his best. I think I could read him everyday and never get the least bit bored. His character, John Corey is my pick for the "World's Sexiest Man"

Pure Murder (Pinnacle True Crime)18 reviews
Corey Mitchell

Pinnacle, 2008

Horrific
After learning a 31 year old man had FINALLY been excecuted for the murder he (and others) committed at 18 years old. I purchased the book Saturday afternoon and I finished Tuesday evening. I am a mother of 3 children under 5. I just couldn't put it down and when I did, I said a prayer for those beautiful girls and their families. I felt emotions, anger, scared, helplessness and cried. The ...

Theory and Practice of Counseling and Psychotherapy (with Web Site, Chapter Quiz Booklet, and InfoTrac )44 reviews
Gerald Corey

Brooks Cole, 2004

Excellent Source
I ordered this book while studying for the National Board of Certified Counselor's Exam. (NCC) I was familiar with Corey's textbooks that I used while completing my master's in THE EIGHTIES- but this volume far surpassed my expectations. The volume is filled with information that makes the theories and theorist's discussed so much more available and more easily integrated. I wish the books I ...

Let's Dance, Little Pookie4 reviews
Sandra Boynton

Robin Corey Books, 2008

The target audience seems to love it.
My son loves it! Some days I'll have to do the Pookie dance for him four or five times, and any book that gets him that excited (as most of Sandra Boynton's books do) gets five stars. It's possible that he's precisely at the target age; he's not quite two and very fond of music and dancing.

What's Wrong, Little Pookie?26 reviews
Sandra Boynton

Robin Corey Books, 2007

Best Boynton ever!
We LOVE this hilarious book! My husband and I read it together for our 1 year-old son (I usually read the Pookie part) and it cracks us up every time. When my son is upset and getting fussy, simply reciting the 1st few lines of the book will often calm him down. This is a family favorite and we highly recommend it.

Dead And Buried: A Shocking Account of Rape, Torture, and Murder on the California Coast42 reviews
Corey Mitchell

Pinnacle, 2003

Very eye opening
Yet another hit from Corey Mitchell! The way he starts out with some of the attacks and then starts from the beginning of where everyone involved came from etc. was awesome. I again love the way he ties in other cases where applicable that people might recall. I was especially touched by the story of his deceased wife at the beginning. I had read books done after this and seen the reference to ...

The Art of Personal Imagery: Expressing Your Life Through Collage25 reviews
Corey Moortgat

North Light Books, 2007

Worth every penny I spent on it
As an avid scrapbooker and beginner mixed-media artist, this book has really made me redefine my style. I've reached a point in my art that doing pretty pages was just not enough, and I found myself including more and more symbolic items in my artwork. Being OCD-like, this book has really prompted me to loosen up, experiment and have fun with my artwork. Coreys artwork is so rich in meaning and ...

Horton Hears a Who Pop-up!6 reviews
Dr Seuss

Robin Corey Books, 2008

Beautiful Pop-Up
This is my sister's favorite Dr. Suess story, so when I saw it came in a pop-up version, I had to order it. It is a beautiful book and it is more diverse than your ordinary pop-ups. Each page is not just a 3-D version of whichever part of the story is being told. It's supercool and unique, just as you would expect a Dr. Seuss book to be. The price was half of what was wanted in retail stores and ...

Issues and Ethics in the Helping Professions16 reviews
Gerald Corey, Marianne Schneider Corey, ...

Brooks Cole, 2006

Great Book
I enjoyed this book. I enjoyed the open ended question that the writers pose at nearly the end of every chapter. The books encourages the reader to think for him/herself. The chapter on HMO was interesting. I thought that the writers provided a poignant example on why sessions and reimbursements are so limited under HMO's.

ACA Ethical Standards Casebook2 reviews
Barbara Herlihy, Gerald Corey

Amer Counseling Assn, 2006

A great review of the Code of Ethics with clear examples.
This book is a must-have for the counselor or the counseling graduate student. Each section of the Code of Ethics is set forth with two applicable examples. One example is the "do" and one example is the "don't." These examples clarify the Code and make it much more understandable.
