Excellent series for ophtho residents
I strongly recommend the entire Wills Eye Series for ophthalmology residents. Full color photos and concise descriptions. More useful in a pinch than the BCSC series, although note that this series has no test questions.

A twisted pleasure to read that's very hard to put down!
"Write what you know" is not a bad bit of advice for a writer, especially if what you know is that particular neighborhood in the great metropolis of the human psyche through which sweetness and light pass only after making a wrong turn, and then only with the windows rolled up, the doors locked, 911 on the cell phone speed dial, and one thumb poised on the send button. After reading Boston ...

Useful background info but overly theoretical
While preparing to teach a class on The Science Fiction Film, I looked at a number of texts on the subject and chose Cornea's book. That said, I felt it was the best of a bad lot. Science Fiction isn't always easy to categorize, but Cornea lingered over some questionable titles, such as The Demon Seed, and allowed other, more classic or recognizable titles much less space. Also, Cornea, an ...

The definitive text on laser refractive surgery!
I have been heavily involved in refractive surgery for 5 years and this is the best single source on laser surgery that I have come across. It has excellent photographs and explanations; it covers the personal LASIK techniques of many surgeons rather exhaustivley. If you want to be involved in the fastest growing part of ey-care than this book is a MUST!!!
