Vengeance: The True Story of an Israeli Counter-Terrorist Team 1 review George Jonas
Simon & Schuster, 2005
An eye-opener on the nature of counter-terrorism I read "Notes on a controversy" at the end of the book first, because this justification of the text by the author deals with the issue of veracity. The book has apparently been attacked on this score, and of course the very nature of the subject excludes the possibility of total and certain verification of all the facts, but the author makes a convincing case of the techniques he used in ...

Counter-terrorist Law and Emergency Powers in the United Kingdom, 1922-2000 Laura K. Donohue
Irish Academic Press, 2007
"Counter-terrorist Law and Emergency Powers in the United Kingdom, 1922-2000" examines in detail the introduction and development of the 1922-1943 Civil Authorities (Special Powers) Acts (SPA), the use of which contributed to the fall of the Northern Ireland parliament and the assumption of direct rule by Westminster. The book reveals over 100 Regulations that the northern executive introduced under this legislation which escaped analysis. The ...

CIRCLE AROUND THE SUN 6 reviews M. D. Johnson
Xlibris Corporation, 2006
A fun and fascinating look at how we got here..... While wearing the guise of a well paced spy thriller, "Circle Around the Sun" delivers a fascinating social and political history of our current terrorist dilemma, as seen through the eyes of a mature, modern, multicultural woman and her extended family. Perhaps the most unique aspect of the book for me was the carefully crafted picture of Middle Eastern/Muslim culture and its interactions and ...

Counter-Terrorism Weapons and Equipment J Marchington
Brassey's UK, 2003
The threat of terrorism is destined to be with us for ever and the national military, police and security forces need to arm themselves with specialist equipment if their work is to be effective on our behalf. The range of materiel, from clothing, security equipment and observation kit to firearms, is extensive and international, and constantly changing as technological advances have their effect. For the serving officer, current affairs ...

Edge of God 7 reviews, 2005
Tom Clancy (Without Remorse) meets Stephen Coonts (Flight of the Intruder) in Beowulf Pels' new book.....EDGE OF GOD. Pels bridges the gap between Coonts and Clancy with his technological detail of a Clancy thriller and the imagery of a Coonts story line.
"Edge of God" takes you into the real time world of terrorism and choices that the men and women who fight the world's bad guys must make. Pels heightens the tension so well, that I actually found myself with an increased pulse-rate and trying not to skip ...

24 Declassified: Chaos Theory (24 Declassified) 10 reviews John Whitman
HarperEntertainment, 2007
Jack Bauer: Wild Card I'm a big fan of Kiefer Sutherland's Jack Bauer character on the television show 24. I like the way Bauer is driven to get the job done no matter what, no matter who gets hurt. It sets him up as great flawed hero among his family and peers, but all of us who love the character know the price he's paying to stop the bad guys.
I also have to admit that I can't stand waiting from week to week ...

Venganza (Vengeance: The True Story of an Israeli Counter-Terrorist Team) 1 review George Jonas
RBA, 2006

U. S. Counter-Terrorist Forces 1 review Fred J. Pushies, S. F. Tomajczyk, ...
MBI Publ., 2002
CHEATED!! I gave this book 1 star not for content but for misleading me. I purchased this book published by MBI publishing thinking I was getting a new title in reality all it was, was a repackaging of 3 older titles (U.S. Army Special Forces, DELTA: Americas Elite Counter terrorist Force and U.S. Elite Counter terrorist Forces. All part of the "Power Series") under one cover and title, now called U.S. ...
