Having been a student in France in the 1970s, this book brought back a lot of good memories. Ms. Loomis is an excellent writer and tells a good story making me feel like I was there. I've looked at several French Country books in the past that I didn't get because they were impractical,,,too fru-fru,,to much un-copy-able antiques or furnishings etc. This book worked for me because it gave many avenues of French Country from simple to ornate for real life people. I've gone back to the pictures many times and for the money it's cheaper than 2-3 magazines.
