I Want to be a Cowgirl5 reviews
Jeanne Willis

Henry Holt and Co. (BYR), 2002

BOLD ILLUSTRATIONS ADD ANOTHER DIMENSION OF FUN
Under a city sky scuttled with cactus shaped clouds a dissatisfied little miss stoutly declares that she doesn't want to be a good girl, but a cowgirl instead. Surrounded by books and needlework in her 20th floor apartment she observes that good girls have absolutely no fun, and she does this in lilting rhyme: "I don't want to be a girly girl, Who likes to sit and chat. I just want to be a ...

Coyote Cowgirl4 reviews
Kim Antieau, 2003

Lots of fun!
Just read this book for the joy of reading! It is so great! You will have a tough time not reading it from cover to cover once you start it. The writing style is so darn enjoyable, the characters very real, even the talking crystal skull, Crane! Don't let this one get by you!

Cowgirl Sass & Savvy7 reviews
Julie Carter

Savvy Publishing, 2007

The name says it all
I have read many of Ms. Carter's articles for the last year or so, and they really express Ranch life, and the American West. The name says it all. Ms. Carter is a real cowgirl, and she knows the West inside and out. She's lived the life and her stories are timeless to the West and America in general. Her writing is written in her style and is just as sassy and savy as she is. A great ...

Ride 'Em Cowgirl! Sex Position Secrets For Better Bucking9 reviews
Dr. Sadie Allison

Tickle Kitty Press, 2007

YEEEE HAAAA!
This is a great little book to have. Easy to read and easy to follow. I love the way things are split between those things just for "Cowgirls," just for "Cowboys," or things to be read as a couple. The diagrams are great too. Definitely a must have.

Cowgirl Be Mine (Silhouette Special Edition)6 reviews
Elaine Nichols

Silhouette, 2001

WHAT CAN I SAY?
This is a powerful story! The characters are well defined, the story flows well and the sexual tension was certainly all there just like it should be in a romance. I loved every minute of this book. I think Elaine did a great job with Mandy's emotional state after her leg is amputated. It certainly takes a very strong person to come back after an accident like that and Elaine got it ALL right!

Sixteen Cows8 reviews
Lisa Wheeler

Voyager Books, 2006

Terrific early reader book!
What a fun book. The rhymes catch you up and the graphics are very appealing. My kindergartner loves to practice her reading with it. Completely worth the money spent, particularly if you have an early reader or a toddler that just likes cows, cowboys, and cowgirls. Very sweet book.

A Fistful of Credit Cards: A Suburban Cowgirls Collection4 reviews
Ed Colley, Janet Alfieri

Andrews Mcmeel Pub, 1993

Max and Darlene are my sisters
What a great comic strip this was! It always gave me quite a chuckle, and still does through the books, Suburban Cowgirls (the book), and A Fistful of Credit Cards (the book). Guess the two creators of this strip had bigger fish to fry. It was certainly great while it lasted. I ordered these books used and gave them as Christmas presents.

Cowgirl, Say Yes : Home on the Ranch (Harlequin Superromance)3 reviews
Brenda Mott

Harlequin, 2003

Brenda Mott is an incredible storyteller!
I was looking forward to some free time so I could sink my teeth into Brenda Mott's latest novel, and she has not disappointed me. She has a way of capturing the reader from the very first sentence of her her stories, and this novel is no exception. I was happy to see Trent and Bailey from Sarah's Legacy, to get to know them and their twin babies a little. Ms. Mott writes a captivating story ...

Judy Crandall

Wah Hoo!

The Cowgirl's Cookbook: Recipes for Your Home on the Range3 reviews
Jill Charlotte Stanford

TwoDot, 2008

Made me hungry
Good books are good because they have a rhythm, a flow, that connects parts. That is no easy chore in a recipe book, but Ms. Stanford's side bars and personal comments create that flow. I cannot cook, but I have read the book with pleasure, and it made me hungry. I am going ask my grandchildren to fix me stuff. The photos and Western connection certainly added to pleasure of reading.

Women in Pants : Manly Maidens, Cowgirls, and Other Renegades4 reviews
Catherine Smith, Cynthia Greig

Harry N. Abrams, 2003

A fascinating, must-read for all
Women in Pants is a wonderfully illustrated book chronicling the almost forgotten history of women who not only had the audacious pluck to dress like men but who demanded the same rights, freedoms and jobs as men during a time when society made sure women had few opportunities outside the home. The book is well written and amply illustrated with many beautiful reproductions of vintage photos ...

Roughstock: The Toughest Events in Rodeo4 reviews
John Annerino

Running Press, 2000

The spirit and tradition of the American west captured.
Roughstock:The Toughest Events in Rodeo joins a growing body of work by the photojournalist John Annerino that portrays the American western culture with a photographic passion and historical perspective. This book portrays "the cowboy" as a diverse and multiethnic persona not the traditional "Marboro Man" and conveys through his thoughtful and well researched essay that the traditional image was ...

Texas Women on the Cattle Trails (Sam Rayburn Series on Rural Life)4 reviews

Texas A&M University Press, 2006

One of the best Texas history books I've read
It's a tall order, because there are so many good books on Texas history, but Sara Massey's book really shines. I've always been a sucker for cattle trail tails, and I was deep into Haley's book on Charles Goodnight when I went down to Gonzales for a book fair and signing. I missed the author, but picked up Texas Women on the Cattle Trails anyway. From the moment I started reading, I couldn't ...

Hannah Keeley's Total Mom Makeover: The Six-Week Plan to Completely Transform Your Home, Health, Family, and ...4 reviews
Hannah Keeley

Little, Brown and Company, 2007

This Book Has CHANGED My Life!
This book was exactly what I needed I'm an at home mom of a 1& 3 year old and have been trying for 3 years to keep my life balanced on a regular basis but only have done that in waves. Until now. Since I quit my job as a 2nd grade teacher to become a full time homemaker, I've never been so driven and motivated. I'm better in so many areas and I'm only at week four in the book. I spend 1/2 hour ...

Cowgirl Poetry : One Hundred Years of Ridin' and Rhymin'3 reviews

Gibbs Smith, Publisher, 2001

Love of the West in Cowgirl's Poetry...
Cowgirl Poetry edited by Virginia Bennett is without a doubt one of the best selections of poetry by real Cowgirls available anywhere. With a diverse collection of many writing styles and subjects dear to the hearts of the writers. I found "The Edge" by Debra Coppinger Hill a particularly compelling piece and her "Yellow Slicker" is destined to become a classic. The lighthearted fun of finding ...
