CURRENT Diagnosis and Treatment Pediatrics, Nineteenth Edition (LANGE CURRENT Series)9 reviews
William Hay, Myron Levin, ...

McGraw-Hill Professional, 2008

good for interns
This was my reference of choice when I was an intern at a busy major children's hospital. It's comprehensive, not too heavy to lug around, gives you the important details and gives you references as to where to go next for further reading. It's not always enough information when it comes to specific cases. I usually went to UpToDate, PedsinReview or lit searches at that point. I think this is ...

Current Psychotherapies11 reviews
Raymond J. Corsini, Danny Wedding

Brooks Cole, 2010

Best Book for Clinical Psychology Course
This is, by far, my favorite book for use in teaching a Clinical Psychology course. The most appealing component of this book is that it uses theoretical formulators or significant contributors to the perspectives presented(ie., Beck, Ellis, Rollo & May, etc.) as original authors whenever possible. There are, unfortunately, some problematics in the chapters written by others (e.g., the author ...

CURRENT Diagnosis and Treatment Surgery Thirteenth Edition (LANGE CURRENT Series)1 review
Gerard Doherty

McGraw-Hill Medical, 2009

Current Diagnosis and Treatment Surgery 13th Edition
The book is great and I love it. I am though not very satisfied with the quality of packaging of the books in my last order. I ordered 3 books (this one + two others), and two of the books have defects (minor foldings)) on the front and the back paper-cover. I think those people who put the books in the box should be better educated to NOT put the books with defects in box in the first place, ...

Hidden Currents (Drake Sisters, Book 7)162 reviews
Christine Feehan

Jove, 2009

Fantastic ending
Ok so I know a lot of the reviews are bagging out what happened to Elle, yes it was devastating, but how else could Feehan have Elle and Jackson interract? Tortured himself it was Elle who saved him and so he can return the favour, also being as she is probably the most powerful sister all her powers couldn't save her, she could still be victimised. But the way she recovered with Jacksons help ...

CURRENT Medical Diagnosis and Treatment 2010, Forty-Ninth Edition (LANGE CURRENT Series)2 reviews
Stephen J. McPhee, Maxine Papadakis

McGraw-Hill Medical, 2009

Just what I needed!
This is my favorite book to study from. It gives you the essentials to pretty much any health related problem. Ok, so it's not Harrison's book of internal medicine. But it is small enough that I can carry it without getting a hernia.

CURRENT Medical Diagnosis and Treatment 2009 (LANGE CURRENT Series)15 reviews
Stephen J. McPhee, Maxine Papadakis

McGraw-Hill Professional, 2008

Great everyday reference
This is a great everyday reference book for the Urgent Care/Family Practice practitioner. I work part-time in an Ambulatory Care Clinic and it's been very useful for the "peripheral brain"-type information you need now and then. This book doesn't go into much detail, but it's good for a quick go-to for most illnesses. Great book for the price.

CURRENT Practice Guidelines in Primary Care 2009 (LANGE CURRENT Series)1 review
Ralph Gonzales, Jean Kutner

McGraw-Hill Professional, 2008

Guidelines forever
This is a nice and small pocketbook, including the evidence based guidelines in almost all outpatient topics... It does not explain the why in everything written, but includes the reference study, website, article etc. It is a very diverse book, in that it does not focus in any specialty, but includes guidelines for vaccinations, cancer screenings, AAA, ADHD, metabolic syndrome, osteoporosis ...

Caribbean Currents: Caribbean Music from Rumba to Reggae, Revised Edition4 reviews
Peter Manuel, Kenneth Bilby, ...

Temple University Press, 2006

Excellent Caribbean Musical Journey
Enjoyed the scope and ambition of this book, which educates you well about the remarkable number of musical genres that have emerged from the Caribbean. Has a place on my "world music" shelf along with "World Music: The Rough Guide" and "The Brazilian Sound."

CURRENT Diagnosis & Treatment in Orthopedics, Fourth Edition (LANGE CURRENT Series)7 reviews
Harry Skinner

McGraw-Hill Medical, 2006

Nice book!
This is the best orthopedic book for the medical student or intern, it has the basics of every common orthopedic pathologies and it serves it's purpose well, but i must recommend for the health professional to encourage reading more deeply to get true knowledge for practice, this book it's just a brush off! a quick reminder! a guideline!. Anyway, i'm happy with my purchase and would continue to ...

The Currents of Space29 reviews
Isaac Asimov

Tor Books, 2009

Wonderful read
A great book which showcases the perils of capitalist profit dictating what can and can't be done. Asimov demonstrates that if the rich would lose too much luxury and wealth in order to save a doomed planet, than too bad for the millions of inhabitants. It's a very similar theme to what we are currently undergoing on our own world.

CURRENT Diagnosis & Treatment in Family Medicine Second Edition (LANGE CURRENT Series)4 reviews
Jeannette South-Paul, Samuel Matheny, ...

McGraw-Hill Medical, 2007

Excellent Book
I love all the Current series of books. I have used them for years. They give me the information I need to know and leave out all the fine details that might be valuable for the academics but only get in the way when you are practicing out in the trenches (real world).
