Accurate and Reliable
We have come to rely on the Gazetteer series for general navigation when an Internet connection is not available. My husband purchased the New York version for a business trip and found it to provide exactly the information he needed.

I have just gotten finish reading Dakota Home today, it was excellent as I have found all of the Debbie Macomber books that I have read. The only thing that I regret is that the third book of this series will not be available for purchase until June, 2008. I cannot recommend Debbie Macomber's books enough. Happy Reading, Edie~

Great reading!
I recently read all three books in this Dakota series while my family was on vacation. I immediately was drawn into the lives of the characters and found that they seemed to "come alive". I am now sharing the books with my mom and my daughter. I think it is wonderful that these books are enjoyable reading for three generations, 30's, 50's, and even 80's.

Great Resource
We are planning a trip to the Badlands and Black Hills in September. Insider's Guide provides a wealth of information and I'm finding it a valuable asset. Combined with info from the internet, we will have a well organized trip with knowledge of this area's history.

Can't get lost with this!
I've used Delorme atlases without any problem on my excursions through other states, so I bought the South Dakota atlas last summer before my trip last September. As usual, everything in the atlas is clear and easy to read. My trip took me all across the state of South Dakota, including travel on many back roads. Not once did I wonder where I was or feel I was lost. These atlases are remarkable ...

Trying to convince Marty she is a werewolf is going to be harder ...

A beautiful book.
I read this book every couple of years and find it a fresh, new read everytime. I recently ordered an extra copy for some friends. To my parents, this was one of those books you love and give copies of to all you friends, siblings, and children. I think I will be doing the same thing.

This is one of Debbie's better series. If this is that last in the Dakota series I'm going to miss the characters. Good reading.

Wicked Fun with Attitude
If you enjoyed Dakota Cassidy's "The Accidental Werewolf", then you'll certainly want to check out "Accidentally Dead", which tells Nina's story. The foul mouthed and jaded Nina has scored a position as a dental hygeinist. The good news is she no longer has to hawk overpriced lipstick to eke out a living. The bad news? She's bitten by a patient her first day on the job. It doesn't take ...

Dirty page maintenance
I purchased this manual over a year ago and my Brother and I have replaced the carbeurator (87 only), head gasket, replaced radiatior and hoses, set rockers, learned the values of numerous electrical tasks we were stumbling over. The pages we use are referred to by us as dirty page maintenance, sort of a, been-there, done-that, symbolism. We are not mechanics, just broke enough to try the work ...

Written for the layperson and amply illustrated with photographs, maps, and diagrams, this book describes and interprets the rocks and landforms visible along the state's highways and the geology that lies hidden beneath prairie sod and in ...

Dakota tips
Great source for additional possibilities when visiting the magical Dakotas. However, restaurants and lodging lean heavily to those who have plenty of money in their purse/wallet. For most of us, I would research these areas further. But it is outstanding for many possibilities to make a wonderful trip even better. Just don't expect it to cover much roadfood, wacky attractions or budget motels. ...

An ideal book for those intending to visit South Dakota. As well as giving places to visit and stay it provides an interesting insight into the history of the state. A few more photographs would be even better.

A sheer delight to read!
This book is not written in a particularly sprightly style and yet I found it a work fascinating in the extreme. It starts at the very beginning , and I am sorry it only goes up to 1966. The chapter on the Non-Partisan League (1915-1923) was the most interesting. And Bill Langer had a fascinating career, the account of which was made more attention-holding for me because I used to go to the ...

The Indian Side of the 1862 War
Historians discovered many years ago that oral history is a vibrant cornucopia of information. Even better, integrating oral history into traditional modes of inquiry opened up more chances for earning a Ph.D., or getting that career making book contract. In the case of "Through Dakota Eyes: Narrative Accounts of the Minnesota Indian War of 1862," oral history is the only game in town. Every ...
