Biology 53 reviews Neil A. Campbell, Jane B. Reece
Benjamin Cummings, 2004
Great Book This book is way more informative than my professor. Also, since introductory biology doesn't change within a couple of years, I'm really glad I saved money and purchased the seventh edition rather than the eighth.

Introduction to Managerial Accounting 3 reviews Peter C. Brewer, Ray H Garrison, ...
McGraw-Hill/Irwin, 2006
Great book, almost the same as last edition. I HATE that textbook publishers print out a new edition, with basicaly the same problems as the last edition (only the numbers change). However, to be fair, this is a very clear book, has good examples that follow the exercies in the book. Probably one of the better accounting books I have seen. Also has some chapters of introduction to finance. Overall would recommend.

College Physics (with PhysicsNow) 30 reviews Raymond A. Serway, Jerry S. Faughn, ...
Brooks Cole, 2005
Sloppy I am not at all impressed with the 7th ed. I am now using another textbook instead of the the College Physics 7th ed required for my class.
The text itself if so-so. The text explanations of concepts are unclear and unnecessarily wordy, not the worst out there but certainly nothing to scream about. One of the irritating tendencies was that simple explanations of even basic concepts were few ...

The Corner: A Year in the Life of an Inner-City Neighborhood 66 reviews David Simon, Edward Burns
Broadway, 1998
A look into a very real world I bought the book after I was absolutely enthralled by the mini-series. The book and movie both give you a very emotionally capturing look into the world of the drug corners of every inner city ghetto. In the book's case, it focuses on life in the most dangerous ones of Baltimore, homicide capital of the USA. The book is a stunningly accurate portrayal of a world that is often forgotten, ...

The Careful Use of Compliments: An Isabel Dalhousie Novel 27 reviews Alexander Mccall Smith
Pantheon, 2007
The Careful Use of Compliments I'm always curious and somewhat puzzled....how does a man think he can write as if he were a woman? But, I have to say, Alexander McCall Smith makes it believable. His main character is in many ways genderless, and not totally feminine sounding, but the story is excellent, the writing style enjoyable to read, and I'm crazy about all things Scottish, so it was a pleasure. Having been in ...
