Marc Brown, Laurie Krasny Brown

Little, Brown Young Readers, 1988

Divorce and Kids
This is a fabulous book to help younger children identify and understand their thoughts and feelings when their parents divorce! Delightful illustrations, along with easy to read and to understand dialogue, create opportunity for parents and children to talk about a tough subject. As a clinician, I recommend it to divorcing clients, who parent younger children.

The Big Book of Dinosaurs28 reviews
Angela Wilkes

Dorling Kindersley Publishers Ltd, 1994

Great Dinosaur Book
Great book for any little one who is into dinosaurs. I love the pronunciation guide in the back. It would have been nice if they were listed with the names, but that is okay. This was a birthday gift for a boy turning 3. He loves it.

How Do Dinosaurs Go To School?24 reviews
Jane Yolen

The Blue Sky Press, 2007

Fun to go to school with dinosaurs
This colorful fun book about how a dinosaur goes to school is sure to delight small children. The pictures are cute and colorful. The dinosaurs are helpful creatures, yet there is a bit of 'naughtiness' that will delight small children and their sense of humor.

How Do Dinosaurs Say Goodnight?136 reviews
Jane Yolen

Blue Sky Press, 2000

My toddler loves it
My toddler loves the Jane Yolen's dinosaur books. This one is our favorite. Was a staple for quite sometime as bedtime reading. Good for a child who doesn't want to go to bed, as he hears about appropriate vs. inappropriate behavior at bedtime in a fun way. He knows the book by heart and makes appropriate noises at certain spots (roaring, etc.). It's fun for both of us.

Danny and the Dinosaur (An I Can Read Book, Level 1)31 reviews
Syd Hoff

HarperCollins, 1993

My 2-year-old niece's current favorite book
My two-year-old niece insists that her mother and grandmother read this book to her several times a day. When I went to visit, I saw this book and immediately remembered enjoying it as a kid. Our neighbor read it to me to comfort me one day when I was upset because my dad had locked his keys in his car, we were locked out of the house, and I was upset because I had stepped in a puddle and my ...

How to Build a Dinosaur: Extinction Doesn't Have to Be Forever7 reviews
Jack Horner, James Gorman

Dutton Adult, 2009

The recipe for Kentucky Fried Dinosaur
The recipe for creating a dinosaur from a chicken egg is still beyond the reach of modern technology. As shown by Jack Horner, an technical advisor to the Jurassic Park movie franchise, we are currently limited to making fat mice or fruit flies with legs growing out of their head. But even from our meager beginnings Horner shows that we may yet soon have the ability to alter the expression of ...

First Dinosaur Encyclopedia
This book is well-written and very informative. It is going to be a Christmas gift for my granddaughter who is extremely interested in dinosaurs and their existance in our prehistoric world. The book gives facts and photos to explain each page at great length. I think my granddaughter will be pleased with the book and I look forward to seeing the excitement as she opens it for the first time.

Dinosaur Roar (Picture Puffins)51 reviews
Paul Stickland, Henrietta Stickland

Puffin, 2002

A Roarin' good read
This is a great book to introduce kids to simple words and concepts. Colorful dinosaurs illustrate "fierce" and "Meek" or "short" and "long." Smaller children will love the pictures while older toddlers and preschoolers will laugh at the story and may even recognize some of the simple words.

How Do Dinosaurs Eat Their Food?35 reviews
Jane Yolen

The Blue Sky Press, 2005

2 & 3 year old teacher
This book is requested by the 2 and 3 year old children in my classroom almost daily. They think it is hilarious and love the rhythm. It compares rude and polite behavior by creating a marked contrast between proper and improper actions. This kind of contrasting helps children grasp concepts and helps them learn how to label. The illustrations are great too. I often talk with my children ...

Saving The Stegosaurus (Dinosaur Cove)

When the boys return to Dino World this time, everything is different. The trees, the landscape, it's almost like they've gone to another place. But that's not it-it's another time!
