An Eye-Opener
I whole-heartedly agree with the previous reviewer's impression of this amusing, but keenly insightful book (which I came across 6 years ago at a public library in Miami, Florida, off campus near Florida International University). Crazy Talk, Stupid Talk reveals how language is used in subtly deceptive ways everyday both in public and in private, often unwittingly. Drawing examples from real ...

amazing new book on radical sustainability!
Wow! I just got this amazing new book written by members of Austin's Rhizome Collective. It's full of highly practical, affordable, and simple designs that can be used by anyone to achieve sustainability in their home, neighborhood or community. There are a number of books on sustainable living, but this one stands apart from the rest - the systems described in it are innovative and unique, ...

Fabulous book, somewhat mis-titled!
When I picked up this book, I thought it was for empty nesters and retirees who wanted to downsize or "undecorate" the kids out of their former rooms. Not so! These homes are for people who have lots of living and big plans for themselves. There are only a couple of places I would call "retirement" homes. The rest include homes with offices to make work life go along with home life, homes with ...
Overcoming the Fear of Success: Why and How We Defeat Ourselves and What to Do About It

PLEASE DO NOT BUY THIS BOOK
Overcoming the Fear of Success is hands down, the worst, most destructive book I have ever read. When I read it at age 16, what it did was convince me that my own unconscious or subconscious mind was "out to get me" and derail me of every attempt I made at success. So instead of helping me, the book ended up hurting me a great deal. I cannot tell how many times I think about this book in my ...
