Double Cross Blind21 reviews
Joel E. Ross

Hodder Paperback, 2006

A bit different but enjoyable
The approach, with the main character a bit battle-damaged, is a little different and I found it refreshing. Thomas Wall is a rather messed up, is single-minded in his desire to find his brother with the apparent intent to kill him, and is being used by almost everyone. I thought the plot interesting but understandable. I think if you liked John Lawton's "Blackout" you would also like this.

Double Blind4 reviews
Michael J Vaughn

iUniverse, Inc., 2006

An extraordinary plot, extremely well written and VERY sensual!
You would normally expect an erotic novel to be light on substance and style. Not with this one! I was immediately drawn in by the initial lurid scene that is every straight-man's fantasy; but was soon motivated to turn pages by the complexity of the plot, depth of the concept, and quality of the prose. This story is entertaining yet uncomfortably insightful about the male libido and our ...

The Blind Geometer/the New Atlantis (Tor Double Novel, No 13)2 reviews
Kim Stanley Robinson, Ursula K. Le Guin

Tor Books, 1989

Old favorite
I think I first read this eons ago in one of the magazines, Asimov's most likely. The story's fine, but bits have stuck with me, like when the blind boy learns the importance of the period, and keeping the columns of numbers straight (OK, I still haven't learned this for myself). And Beep-ball. One of the ways that our hero's heroics become believable. And at one stage I had gotten most ...

Battletech: Double Blind3 reviews
Loren L. Coleman

audible.com

Politics and Intrigue, wrapped in a Periphery-coated shell
While on the surface the novel seems to be about Avanti's Angels, a (sometimes) down-on-it's-luck mercenary unit, the true focus of the story brings a number of major powers, both of the Inner Sphere and of the Periphery, into a head-on collision on a remote planet in the Periphery, leaving the Angels squarely in the middle. It takes more than PFM (Pure F...ing Magic) to get them out... and ...
