The Orc King: Transitions, Book I (Transitions)5 reviews
R.A. Salvatore

Wizards of the Coast, 2008

Fresh
I must say that even though I love this series, the past few trilogies have been repetitive, very repetitive and somewhat bland. The Orc King is different than those others: it reshapes virtually everything we have come to know in Salvatore's world. For example (without spoiling): -Boundaries are shaped. -Revelations are made -A character's plot is finished or at least halted -A ...

A Great Addition
Good to add to your collection. If you have read other books by R.A. Salvatore, this is a gret set to add to your collection. Bought this for my teenage son for Christmas because he has read all the forgotten realms series and he really likes them. He was pleased by this, for one reason because it has all the books together. So far he says this collection is very interesting and his writing is on ...

What a wonderful world R.A. Salvatore has created here!
Second favorite trilogy right behind the (The dark Elf Trilogy) I cant say enough about these books. Salvatore has really opened up a new and wonderful world for me to explore. Read the Dark elf trilogy first then read the Icewind dale trilogy and you will be a Salvatore fan for life.

Reader's Guide to the Legend of Drizzt (The Legend of Drizzt)2 reviews
Philip Athans

Wizards of the Coast, 2008

Great Guide to this Series
I'm on book 17 in this Drizzt series and I enjoyed going back and looking at pictures and places that for the most part I imagined. It's great for long term fans and for those just starting...you will find great too! The only issue I have is the picture of Montolio. I'm my minds eye he looks like the Todd Lockwood version from the cover of Sojourn!

The Hunter's Blades Trilogy Collector's Edition (Forgotten Realms)21 reviews
R. A. Salvatore

Wizards of the Coast, 2007

Great Read
One of the best series I have read in a long time. Some people have said that this band of characters is getting old, but I beg to differ. I have already read the "Ork King", which is the first book in the next series. I still think this series is great. Well worth the money for me.

The Pirate King (Forgotten Realms: Transitions, Book 2)1 review
R.A. Salvatore

Wizards of the Coast, 2008

Just Good, not Great
I thoroughly enjoyed the Pirate King. Great intrigue, fight scene descriptions and dialogue (The world's gone Gutbuster ! :) There definitely is a twist at the end, although I am still deciding if I agree with it. The ruminations of Drizzt were right on point. I also like the fact that I don't have to wait another year to finish this story. One book told it all. Why is this even a trilogy? ...

The R.A Salvatore books for the Drow series is the first books i ever pick up and read. Me not being a reader thought i would never sit a read a book on its entirity, well i was wrong. since the very fist books i just kept reading. Passage to Dawn (Forgotten Realms: The Legend of Drizzt, Book X)
R A Salvatore has been my favorite author for a reason and this book defines this reason. The story details just enough for my imagination to take over and it reads smoothly. He did it again with this book. MJ Grothoff

Classic Dungeons & Dragons brought to life
The copy I have is a first edition paperback, printed in 1988, but as far as I know, little has changed. I am, sadly, stunned by the poor reviews given this book as part of the "Spotlight Reviews". Salvatore burst onto the fantasy scene with this book that brings four unlikely heroes together (I'd say five, but Cattie-brie takes a backseat role in this book) - a dwarven king, a human ...

Read this if you read the first two in the series, then you'll be done. More stories of Drizzt and all his friends. I find this to be some of the better of R.A. Salvatore's Forgotten Realms work. I finished it in 2 days.

Great escapist fantasy
I've read a few negative reviews that are a bit too critical of the subject matter. Seriously people, it's D&D fantasy. If you want something deep to analyze and pick apart, go read Kafka. When I first picked up The Crystal Shard in 88 (wow, that was a while ago) I was hooked. I don't read these for deep meaning or analysis; I read them because the characters are great, the stories are fun ...
