Breathtaking, worth the wait
Not since Linda Lael Miller's gothic Vampire Love novels have I picked up a book so worthy of reading. I have been so disappointed since reading the final 4th installment of "Into the Night" because there were no more forthcoming. I didn't even realize I had the first two of Stephanie Meyer's Vampire Love Stories. I'm only on chapter 3 and I can't put it down! Thank you so much for giving me ...

I have two nephews with ADD/ADHD and possibly more undiagnosed relatives which made me curious that maybe I had ADD/ADHD. I read this book and I really related to a lot of the stories and it gave me hope that there could be help for me. I wasn't really a problem student, just got in trouble often and had problems reading but I excelled at math and science (although teachers said I was an ...

In 1964, Dr. David Henry is forced to deliver his own twins during a snow blizzard. The first-born of the set is a healthy boy, the second, a girl. The doctor easily identifies all the obvious signs of Down's syndrome in his daughter. In that moment, he makes a split second decision while his wife is unconscious. An excellent beginning to an excellent series!!
Stephenie Meyer is an incredible author and Twilight is a fantastic first entry! Every character, from Bella and Edward, to James and even Charlie, are likeable and very well conceived. Let's get one thing straight, though: THIS IS NOT JUST A BOOK FOR YOUNG ADULTS. Anyone who loves a good story is going to like this book. Though it relates well to young adults, as it covers a lot of the same ...

Fantastic for all readers!
A huge Stephenie Meyer fan, I found "The Host" different from her Twilight Series, but no less captivating or thought-provoking. The story is deep and rich, and truly "science fiction for none-science fiction readers". I highly recommend this book to anyone who enjoys reading; you won't be able to put it down until you finish it!

Just what I needed
As someone who has only recently been diagnosed, reading this book helped me feel less alone. Because the author so clearly describes her experiences and her feelings about them, it has also helped me better understand which of my symptoms may be attributed to this illness versus other conditions and recognize things that I never thought were out of the norm.

Excellent for People Who Say I CANT DRAW!
I don't know why the neg reviewers on here are bowing down to The "Natural Way to Draw," like it was written by some genius guru. There's a reason "Natural Way to Draw" is listed waaay down on the Amazon rank (almost 5,000 down) compared to this book, "New Drawing on the Right Side of the Brain" .... meh. If you tell yourself any of these things, this book is for you: * I can't draw * I ...

A Must Read!
This book was a real attention grabber. I couldn't put it down once I started it. You learn a lot about Mary and more about Elizabeth. Hannah the fool was actually a real fixture in this time. I'm not how major a role she played in the history of this family but other books mention her and she did affect other important people's lives in this time. It's got scandal and tragedy. I recommend ...

Cracking the wall
I have a family that is full of artists, and always felt really sad that I couldn't draw even a stick figure! A little while ago I realised something important - that drawing is a form of literacy, like writing, and so many of us don't make it past kindergarten. Visual communication is really under-rated in our school systems, which pretty much relegates most of us to the category of ...

Very Helpful - Author Has Friendly Tone
This book was rather large but I found myself reading through every chapter that even slightly pertained to me. The author is ADHD and you really feel that as you are reading this book. Chapters are mostly very short so you can pick it up read and chapter or two then go about life and come back. Book touches on a lot of subject and isn't clinical at all in how it presents information.

I've just retired from Corporate America and decided to take up gardening. This book has been the best purchase I've made in years. It's well organized, easy to find and follow the instructions. As a novice gardener, I've appreciated the thorough coverage of all topics. I know I will have and use this book for many years. Thank you for a wonderful gardening tool. VTD

Wonderful story
After watching Band of Brothers, I couldn't wait to read this book by "Wild Bill" Guarnere and "Babe" Heffron. It really gives you an insight into what went through their minds during the hell of WWII, but the most poignant thing is the enduring love and friendship all of these guys still have for each other. It's a lesson we all should learn.

Just keeps getting better
Blood Rites is another masterpiece by Jim Butcher. Where Else can you get Flaming Monkey poo, Assasins, Hellfire, Vampire Porn stars, a dash of Fallen angel and Family all tied up into 2 detective cases and a personal grudge. Its great to see characters from the previous books and the tying up of some lose ends.

A Classic Read
Joni Mitchell perhaps most aptly summarizes the driving idea of Silent Spring in her song "Big Yellow Taxi": "Hey farmer farmer / Put away that DDT now / Give me spots on my apples / But leave me the birds and the bees. Please!" While both the book and the song are a bit outdated in the United States as DDT was banned in 1972, it's still an interesting analysis of insecticides/herbicides, ...

An inspirational experience
Everybody should read a book like "The Visual Display of Quantitative Information" and I do not mean the professionals in the field but really everybody. Tufte really opens your mind and makes you aware of the possibly malevolent or just misleading representations of data we are faced with every day on magazines, newspapers, TV and the web.

Excellent book - especially for middle school boys
I'm a 46 year-old Mom and I bought this book because of the great reviews, but I didn't know which son to give it to. My 4th grader falls into the age-range mentioned here at amazon, but based on the plot synopses here I felt it was more a book my 7th grader would like. So I read it myself first. I LOVED it. What a great, moving, inspiring, different book. As stay-with-you as Hoot, or ...
