Elsie Dinsmore Vols. 1-410 reviews
Martha Finley

Mission City Press, 2001

The 'Elsie Books'
I've loved reading the Elsie books because of their positive nature. They are truly inspiring to read and, I find, a wonderful example. Elsie, though a ficticious character, is a role model because of her great strengths and unwavering faith in the Lord. I would encourage girls of all ages to read them... even at 17 I find they have a strong message.

Egermeie's Bible Story Book19 reviews
Elsie E. Egermeier

Warner Press, 1969

An excellent choice
If you are looking for a well-written Bible story book, Elsie Egermeier's is an excellent choice. Even adults who know and love the Bible will gain new insights as they read this book. Two equally good Bible story books are by Rev. Jesse Lyman Hurlbut and Pearl Buck. Friends in California with three young children recently wrote me that their kids LOVE the Egermeier Bible Story Book. They read ...

Bigger Than a Button4 reviews
Elsie Karr Kreischer

Gently Worded Books Llc, 2002

Great children's book!!!
This book is so special! It is simple in text, with great illustrations for sharing with younger children. It celebrates the heart of the family, and tells a baby how wonderful and special it is. If you're a dog lover, you'll also enjoy the dog illustrations. If you have a newborn and older children, it is fun to read out loud.

Wonderful for a Christlike heart
All the Elsie books are great! They are so and free from things that would make you shudder. Elsie is a godly woman and a great mother. Her view on the Civil War was one I had never heard before and was very interesting. A must read!

What an Awesome Book
This book is about an eight year old girl named Elsie Dinsmore. Her mom passed away right after she was born. Her dad couldn't handle the pain so he moved away. Horace (Elsie's father) left Elsie to be taken care of at his parent's home. There Elsie is faced with many problems. Elsie turns her problems to God and he helps her through them. All Elsie wants is for her dad to come home. She wonders, ...

Elsie De Wolfe: The Birth of Modern Interior Decoration4 reviews
Penny Sparke; Mitchell Owens

Acanthus Press, 2005

A WOMAN AHEAD OF HER TIME
Elsie de Wolfe, born in 1865 give or take a few years, was a woman ahead of her time. She is noted for her taste in interior decoration, although she did not begin that career until after she was 40 years of age. Her earlier life had been spent as a stage actress, an occupation that raised eyebrows during the Victorian era. Nonetheless, when she turned to her new career it was with the ...

Hui Gui: A Chinese Story5 reviews
Elsie Sze

Hushion House Publishing, 2005

A beguiling story
This is a fascinating novel, beautifully written with grace and style. One is mesmerized as one follows the fortunes of Tak Sing---from the turmoil of his childhood in revolutionary China, through his struggle for survival as a refugee in Hong Kong, to the later intrigue of his final years. This engrossing tale of courage and integrity is filled with poignant and tender scenes of human ...

Wisdom Within6 reviews
Roger Mills, Elsie Spittle

Lone Pine Publishing, 2001

Enriching and Profound
I found this book to be a delightful read, filled with stories and examples to "bring home" the Principles described. It is a unique book, in that the authors ask us to read looking for insights, rather than intellectual understanding. It is clearly written, easily read, and yet amazingly rich. Most striking are the examples of people in dire situations (prisons, communities riddled with crime ...

Elsie Piddock Skips in Her Sleep4 reviews
Eleanor Farjeon

Walker Books Ltd, 1997

Don't skip this gem
There may be no better book for reading aloud to pre-teens. Originally one of the stories in Farjeon's "Tales Told Under the Green Umbrella" -- long out of print -- Elsie Piddock Skips in Her Sleep is easily as much fun for the adult reader as for the young listener, and in this case that is saying a great deal. It is actually two consecutive stories (ideal for consecutive nights), one a ...

Elsie's Silent Cries4 reviews
Barbara Copeman-High

F.P. Comrie Publications, 2000

Wonderful Insight For Coping With Alzeimer's
I was overwhelmed with the thoughts put into words to explain just how families cope with Alzeimer's and how the family came up with not only new and improved coping skills to live by, but to help others who do not have the time to learn by mistakes, to try things and learn how the person not able to communicate responds to new ideas.Alzeimer's patients do know your voice and face even though ...

In Over Her Head3 reviews
Elsie Russell

Lulu.com, 2008

A thrilling ride through the seamy world of art
I loved this book. It's a bit of a genre-bender, combining elements of a technology-thriller with those of a dramatic novel. Usually when a writer tries to cross over genres like this, the result is less than the sum of its parts. Not in this case. Russell has produced a work that combines the page-turning excitement and mystery you expect from a top-notch thriller with the fully-realized ...

Home Maid Spanish3 reviews
Margaret Storm, Elsie Ginnett

Brooke House, 1976

Timely, concise,practical,small well-organized book .
Home Maid Spanish has been the bible of bi-linqual housekeeping. It can not cost that much to produce..if nothing else..copy it onto web pages..but get it into circulation some way!! It is a coloquial dictionary of household terms in the Latin-American vernacular...youa can use it in many contexts not just for housework and child care! You are conversant in everyday Spanish when you have this ...

Zonderkidz, 1999

ABSOLUTELY FABULOUS!
WHAT AN INCREDIBLE STORY! This is the best book yet. It is such a captivating story you just can't wait to see how it is going to turn out. It is sure a good reminder that wolves sometimes come in sheep's clothing and you cannot always trust your emotions. Every girl who is even considering dating needs to read this book!

Elsie's Impossible Choice, Book 24 reviews

Zonderkidz, 2000

Better and better!
If you love to read series books than Elsie is for you! Her troubles get so sad sometimes but it always turns out okay in the end. She is a strong Christian girl and I love these books so very much. I looked at the other ones about Elsie Dinsmore that aren't like this (they are paperback ) and they were different. Not as easy to read or fun. Read all of them, but when is Book 5 coming out! ...
