Bean Better Than Ender??? Possibly
While this book is consistent with the Ender is God view, Bean is a separate and uniquely intriguing character. His childhood is about as far from fairy tale as one can get and still be a child-safe book. He's got a brain unparalleled in the known world, which must have been a daunting task for the author to describe well, but somehow Orson Scott Card succeeds. I would recommend reading ...

Delightful
I was a little leery on reading this book; I finally broke down and bought it. It is a great story, and I love it. Enders Game is defiantly a book I will bring with me into a classroom setting. I am excited to use it, and hopefully others will benefit from it the way I have.

Lord of the Rings for the 21st Century, Part 1?
This book is the first part of an astounding series of four books; Ender's game, Speaker for the Dead, Xenocide and Children of the Mind. Although interesting, deep and often fun in itself, Ender's Game serves a greater role of introducing the child Andrew Wiggan, his sister and brother Valentine and Peter, and the concept of another rational (the books use "sentient") Alien Species, known ...

Engrossing Science Fiction at its Very Best
This set contains the last 3 books in the quartet of books that began with Ender's Game. They tell a gripping story of the neverending struggle of diverse peoples (human and alien species) to learn to understand each other, live in harmony, and learn to cooperate for the common good.

Only book that has made me cry
This is the only book that has made me cry. I cried when Ender died, (although he didn't die his aiua passed on to Peter) the character of Ender died. Through the series I have gotten so attatched to his character unlike any other character in any series. Through his guilt of xenocide, and hard life it was hard to read sometimess. Especially, when he had problems with Novinha in Xenocide, ...

Ender series full review-one of the best-Great book for strategy
I have read the whole ender series, but with a strange sequence which may have affected the way I view the different books in the series. The first book I have read was the Shadow of the Hegemon, thanks to a tourist that had left it in the library of a hotel in Skiathos island. This book got me hooked, but it confused me also as I didn't know if I should start reading the next books or the ...

Practical book on time series econometrics
I am a Financial Engineer working primarily in risk management. Over the past few months I've had to study up on time series-related topics (both GARCH and cointegration-based analyses). This book is excellent for someone who needs to find time-series information and then apply it to a problem in a hurry. The explanations are clear and intuitive, yet mathematically precise. There are plenty of ...

An O.K. Book in the Ender Series by Orson Scott Card
This is the third book in Card's "Ender" series. After finding it hard to put the first two down, the third is a disappointment. Xenocide tries to span the known universe - with plots and sub-plots taking place on several of the 'Hundred Worlds'. It drags in a lot of places and is just too long for no purpose I can discern. I'm struggling to get through it and am not sure I'll continue with ...

A sharing of boyhood memories from an unusual place
Growing up in a hotel sounds like a cool and exotic experience, doesn't it? At the very least, it must have offered the chance to meet all kinds of people. And eating all of your meals at a café counter, sitting on an upholstered and spinnable stool, would have been fun, too. Well: maybe. These are the kinds of scenes Brandon Schrand recalls when he thinks back to his childhood. He lets us ...

Great short story...
I wasn't really sure what to think of this book before I purchased it. I'm a huge fan of all of the Ender's Game books, and actually I'm currently reading Shadow Puppets. Despite being very non-religious, personally, I found it to be a great story of tradition and beliefs with that childhood touch. It brings back a lot of characters in Battle School, but mainly focuses on Zeck, the child who ...

First Meetings--Fills In the Gaps!
The book is awesome--filling in gaps that I didn't even realize were in the Ender books. Two of the three stories are totally brilliant, while the third one is a short-story version of Ender's Game--still very interesting, even if you've read the novel. FIRST MEETINGS IN THE ENDERVERSE is a pretty easy read, making you wish it were much longer. Well worth the money!
